Thread: I exported CR2 from Daz Studio and Imported into Poser 13 | Forum: Poser 13

looks really cool :)
maybe a noob question but.. ist the G9 possible to pose? Or is it an object I need to pose before I export it? What bout Clothing? Is there a way to export with clothing?
I love Poser and DAZ is so much confusing that I am not willing to use it but vendors make really nice characters for Genesis.. so is there a way to work with them in Poser, or is it just usefull if I want to make a portrait without any posing/clothing ect?
Does my question make sense?
It is possible to pose the G9 figure as an FBX (less computational processing than an imported CR2 version), but you need to do it body part by body part. All clothes, hair, accessories etc should be worn by the figure prior to export as FBX from DS. Some shader tweaks may be needed after importing into Poser, but if you are using PBR materials, the job may be a lot less complex.
Any FBX figure may be posed in Poser, but as mentioned, body part by body part, and all attire etc must be already worn by the figure.
(apologies, I just only read your message in the forum)

Re-acquainting myself with Poser software, now version 13, after 2 years away. This is my customised version of L'Homme, my awful attempt at the hair room, and my original clothes.

I added SSS and bum (didn't think Displacement made much difference) and used my own 360 Equirectangular HDRI for the Background Environment shader setup. (I made the equirectangular HDRI using Blender3D)

I used the FBX exported version from Daz Studio inside Poser 13. Much better memory management.

Indeed, the CR2 export is not good for posing. I found the FBX version easier to work with, albeit poses have to be done manually and materials need to be adjusted.CR2 exports all of the morphs, and I mean ALL. If you gave a gazillion Genesis 9 figures and morph packages, the PMD file is huge, which is proibably what causes the lag. FBX doesn't seem to carry the morphs over.
I'm also assuming you had to import eyes, brows, lashes, etc separately as conforming objects.
But then comes the challenge. Try posing and see what happens.

The full render using SuperFly, my own 360 HDRI and one distant light. I emphasise:I did not add SSS, Bump, nor Displacement (these do not come over during the conversion)

@nerd has provided real treasure for all Poser users who are rigging multi-part figures. I feel that step 16 is important for rigging BJDs comprised of different parts,as I have done in the past (but not the weight mapping because BJD body parts are stiff). Kudos !! 👍

I just export as OBJ and work in Blender with the OBJ. Of course this is all unrigged geometry processing. (Only referring to my own goemetries originally created in Blender, taken into DS, then exported out for further adjustment/processing)

As an example, I took a quick look at the Easy PBR website codeofart.gumroad.com/l/EasyPBR and the instructions are there on how to use it. I think you mean how to install the add-on. To do this, Go to Edit, Select Preferences, select Add-Ons, on the right top corner of the add-ons manu there is a down-pointing arrowhead, click that. Hit Install From Disk, go to the downloaded file and let Blender3D do the rest. Is this the method you needed to know about ? Sorry if it is not, becuase it was hard to understand exactly what you were asking.
