Thanks, Mark.  I found it... it's part of the affiliate program.  I need to spend some more time going through the site and discovering what's changed and what hasn't.  For instance, I just discovered why all of my freeware offerings are no longer available... aside from the fact that they were stored on that old, defunct site.  Five years of changes is a lot to take in at once.

Nevermind about that link... I finally found details.  I guess the FAQ should be my best friend for little while...

Would you ever move over to Vue?:  not likely... use Carrara pretty much exclusively, now... but still play with Bryce, and these guys here are a lot like family... which is probably why I visit so seldom, lately.  :o)  In fact, am enjoying watching my 3 yr old son (Bryce) learning to use Bryce. He can come up with some pretty surreal stuff sometimes.

What is your most favourite Bryce art that you have done and why? (*must be in your gallery for us to see): * probably Spring Morning (linked above) was really pleased with the colors, the mood, the depth... one of those where I couldn't take my eyes of that little white render line as it slowly progressed... probably watched the whole thing render.

Thanks guys.... got there hoping that the improvements/changes would be insignificant enough that I would be satisfied to keep my C4Pro for a while longer.... but, nooooo.... They had to go and add some really cool stuff... And if you guys are pleased with it, it all must work with minimal or no bugs... so it looks like I gotta find a way to convince the wifey that I really really need to spend money we don't have to upgrade....

BTW... didn't see a cost for upgrade from C4Pro to C5Pro... just C4 Basic.... anyone know if it's the same cost?

hadn't forgotten about you at all... matter of fact, when I was finally able to get back online (been, like, almost a year and a half), yours was one of the first sites I tried to check on, just to see what you guys had been up to.... was disappointed to find no website and feared the worst.  Glad to see you folks are still around.

I understand completely... have read at least one 'bitching' thread (started by you, I think) about the new site coding, etc... trying to get caught up on things myself... and, so far, I've got pretty much the same gripes... I'm on a slow dial-up connection, and things keep freezing on me during the page loads.... sometimes only a few seconds... sometimes long enough I just shut things down and start all over again... just another reason us old-timers continuously annoy the young folk by bitching about missing the 'good old days'.... whether here or in the real world....

yep... two years...  did you say 'fun'???... I never expected to have a kid going through their 'terrible twos' who was the size of a 4 year old.... makes it that much more fun.

Thanks for the 'welcome back' folks...  and, yes, I'll certainly be hanging around more often (again) now that I realize how hopelessly out of touch with the rest of the world (well... 3d world) without internet access.  Now to try to wrap my brain around this new site and all of its intricacies....

what a coincidence... I've been working on an entry for this month's challenge (my first in several months) and I was using pidjy's ruin model... got to wondering whatever happened to the old chap... glad to see you're still kicking ;o) medication is gooood ;oD

'Who's with me?' been there for a while now, welcome aboard... although I must say, I doubt if I'll ever fully say 'goodbye Bryce', but it's definitely not my drug of choice anymore since Carrara grew up.

sure... give me a bit to get it uploaded... it's not as detailed as Kemal's model... but, hey, it's free :o)

Carrara does caustics and photon mapping.. but will not break white light down into a prism, AFAIK... and the price is much more reasonable....
