You can stop fiddeling ..THAT is not suposed to happen .. 

The fact that the "door post" ? moves is a error in the file and nothing you can do with textures will fix it ..

The part should not move ..and so if it DOES like it shows in your image the tectures will go wonkers ..

So A: your trying to mive something that should not move "not made to move"

or B: get in touch with the make / seller and ask what wrong with it .. and if he/she can fix the model ..

But it has Nothing to do with textures ..

simply said its the light that IS.. 

like when the sun does not shine directly into the room ..there is still light in the room ..

So global light is everywhere   unless your in a pitch darkroom with no light or wndows ..

but still even then there is a kind of global light .. but verry little

the TOP rarely changes ..it has being like that for many many many years ..

And that only changes when some one removes its FB or some one makes a killer item that gets a zillion downloads ..

but the counting does work fine.

Dont feel dumb ..many people make that mistake.. mainly due to the LE versions that are out there ..

There are some programs that only upgrade the new things ..but full version upgrade and poser for sure are 100% new versions ..

its up the the maker of the tool ..but 99% of the upgrades can be done as a full version install

And all you need it a previous serial number orzo ...

So your right and almost right  ..

a POSER upgrade is a FULL VERSION ..nothing less then that ..

A upgrade version will only say you payed a nit less because you already had a pre version ..

No difrence between a new full version and a upgrade of the same version ..
