Let's hope Carrara and Hex can be grated into Studio. That would be a fantastic program indeed.

Yay! Great Hexagon news. I'm still wishing for a new-er version of Carrara. I work with Cinema 4D, but for me, the greater adventure is... Carrara!

Yes. me too. Let's hope Smith Micro picks it up. I have Cinema 4d, and though it can do some interesting things, I don't find myself using it nearly as much as Carrara. Carrara, is fun, exciting and user friendly, and you don't need a renderer like V-Ray to make something good happen. IMHO, Carrara, can be as serious a tool as any. We gotta think of a way to keep our program alive and kicking. Come on Smith Micro!

That doesn't mean there aren't other programs out there of course, but Carrara's my favorite.

To me, Carrara is, and always will be a great user friendly, economical program, that has wonderful results. Do you think anyone besides Daz might pick it up?

I usually don't post at Daz. Let's keep this forum and Carrara going. I still have hope that eventually there may be a Carrara 9.

Eventually, all these programs will be dust, even 3DS Max and Maya. We ought to enjoy whatever programs we're working with. The future may be..... Sketchup? And on a phone or tablet?

I'm still planing on working with Carrara. The main reason is: Carrara will probably not be upgraded, which eventually makes it unusable on a modern OS (in my case, Mac). Cinema 4D is a bit more complex, but both programs are great. In so many ways, it isn't the software, but the artist!

Carrara is an awesome tool. It just needs someone to further develop it. I've been working with Cinema 4D for about a month now, and though the results are a bit better than Carrara's native render, well, they aren't all THAT much better. And Carrara is actually more fun to use.
