I want no part of interactive 3-D virtual reality stuff until they figure out a way to make it virtually real. Until then, I just don 't see the boon. Of course, these introductory stages are necessary to get there, but as far as the masses go..I believe it's big yawns abroad. In fact, really, I think this field is the wrong approach. Brainwave stimulation is where it's at, and most likely won't require huge bandwidth to transmit signals across the net necessary to submerge the mind in a different reality. Has anyone seen the movie "Strange Days"? -Darth_Logice

Oh Shit, lalverson...now If he packs up and leaves you'll go down as an evil whiner. Let's hope he has more fortitude then that. -Darth
Thread: Makes me wonder... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
ONe more thing, back on topic... Yes, people will no doubt leave because they are sensitive to the issues that come with commercialism. Many of the so-called whiners might leave as well, who may be equally talented but disgusted by said commercialism. In the grand scheme of things, people are always coming and going for various reasons. We have witnessed the return of Bonestructure, who I believed swore he'd never be back here. Well, for whatever reason he's back and thank goodness, he was missed. Of course we are all sad to see Anton go for any length of time. Maybe, some perspective will allow him to recharge the fortitude that a person must have to sell meshes commmercialy in a public forum. Let's hope! -Darth_Logice

Before commenting, I must first say that I Phil C's case is really bad and is different from Anton's. Now, for the unpopular (as always) opinion. Why is it that people who state things like "I wouldn't pay that much for it.." or the like are now called whiners? "I hope you aren't going to sell it" is not a whine, it is actually a compliment. The person wants it but likely can't afford it. The fact as, as soon as you go commercial, you should expect some flak, criticism, and even whining (though I would not call any of the statements I've seen around the issue whining.) Furthermore, those who feel that the commercialism of the community is a bad thing have a legitimate viewpoint that some of you who are no proclaiming "Whiners!" have agreed with in the past. Shame on you folk and you know who you are. Yes, it's sad to see Anton Go, and it's sad to see anyone go really...but nobody told him he had to and the backlash he's citing as his reasoning is something he should have forseen as coming with the territory. Must we villainize those who are not afraid to say "Hey, you know, this is nice but may be kinda pricey" because one person decides to leave? There are many other vendors here who must have the same experiences as Anton. Like I said, it goes with the territory. Instead, why don't we just say "Take Care, and we hope to see you again soon" or something a little less judgemental in an occurance where neither side is right or wrong? -Darth_Logice

Good Lord! Someone is still using that hair??? LOL I don't know whether to be honored or frightened. However, everything looks wonderful! Lots of hard work pays off, it seems. -Darth
Thread: It's a Wonder!! (attention Variesh) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It's not THAT uniform first of all...but that's one of the things I like about this piece as opposed to say, standard transmapped curls... It looks like she just got out of the salon which is nice. I imagine rtamesis, that if you want it sloppier for certain renders...then that can be accomplished with morph targets/magnets/waves...which is part of it's versatility. But you're entitled to your negative opinion by all means. -Darth

Isn't it just the best hair ever? Now we just have to Lynda Carterize Wonder Woman's face :)
Thread: Disappointed w/ Micheal | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm with Dave, Mike is a real pain and the nose is awful to work with. Also awful is the chin and jawline. The whole thing is really just sad. Some of you have done some great work but I'm guessing it was nowhere near as easy as it is to morph Vicky. -Darth
Thread: Vairesh's Forthcoming hair..amazing! (Animated gif) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poppi, remember the hair is not my creation, it is the creation of Vairesh, and I believe he's assigned all his beta testers already. The hang in front IS a morph, the default is for the hair to come down to about the shoulders and cascade down the back and sides of the arm. There is a morph to move it back or forward further, or just one side or the other...believe me, it's all inclusive, though I did make four morph targets of my own that I feel add to it's versatility and have let Vairesh know that he's totally free to include them in his release. There will not be any disappointed purchasers of this hair, I'm pretty damned sure...it's just the best! Illusions: Thanks :) It's been my thing lately to put a little flesh on the ladies, guess I'm getting older and my tastes are becoming more sophisticated? -Darth
Thread: Vicki hip problems | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
While I'm not at all against solutions for the various problems...I think the bottom line is you can't expect Poser to be the last step in a piece of art. You need to fix some of these things in PhotoX software, pure and simple. Or, wait about 6 years when desktop computers for the hobbyist will have enough memory to have a virtual human that is structured exactly like a Human Body..with skeleton, logical muscle action and the like. -Darth
Thread: Buffy/Sarah Michelle Geller...Improved? ATTN: Gaer | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Heya Duane, just took a refresher look at Slaybelle, and she is as buffalicious as a gal can get on Posette! Having done a little homework, doesn't it just drive you mad that four million people downloaded her and only one render in the gallery turns up with her in the credits? I ask not to demean but to commiserate. It's a timeless issue in the poser world, I know, but doesn't it make you batty? -Darth

A lot of the minutae are things that just can't get morphed via magnets, which is what I use. I gotta admit I was a little stressed after your gallery critque, but I took it as a challenge rather than a dig, and I appreciate you taking the time to check back on the progress. Perhaps I'll try again with magnets tomorrow to fix some of the things...but I can tell you this: it's virtually impossible to work with the eyebrows. One other thing: I think having a good morph is just a start, some of these tweaky pesky problems can and should be delt with in postwork. I didn't do that here, because I wanted to illustrate the morph out of the box. Also, I took a look in the gallery for other Buffies, and I gotta tell you that the others are in the ballpark, but they are pop-flies at best. The best one kind of looked like a Japanese Comic Book Version of Gellar IMO, then there's the old p(3?) version of Buffy, which was great but c'mon it's not Vicky. -Darth

Extremely Cool, Spike! Always meant to ask you if you're name is from the Buffy Character or just random Spike-ness? -Darth_Logice
