Here is my result based on Nerd 3D's workaround. Poser 12 SuperFly rendering (navlight_left ambient =1)
FYI, Nerd3D and I are on the Poser 12 Dev team. Jenn asked me to investigate the issue and I've submitted the report for the team to look at.

According to Nerd3D, the immediate workaround is to set the skinning method to Poser Unimesh. The issue only produces when the skinning is set to Poser traditional.

You will need to go through the NDA process. Please send me your name and a brief summary of your experience with Poser to brian@posersoftware.com. Thanks and best regards, _Brian

Due to the scarcity of the Nvidia 3000 series graphics cards we've been unable to test their compatibility. We've had user reports that there are compatibility issues. We will resolve these as soon as we can acquire cards to test with.
Thank you,
Brian, Poser 12 QA tester.

Happy Birthday David!!! And, also thanks for making Poser so much fun and joyful. Throughout my years I've spent countless hours creating scenes based on your themed items. Stay young always!

 Hi sweetpegster,
In the Display menu, is Bend Body Parts unchecked? That might be the issue here. Please make sure it's checked and the display issue should go away.
Thanks,

Hi ArdathkSheyna, What type of crash are you experiencing? Does Poser crash to the desktop without a error or warning dialog? Or does the separate rendering process aka FFRender.exe crash? Does the render process just hang? Please try rendering with FFRender turned off to isolate the crash. You can verify if FFRender is rendering as a separate process by going to General Prefs (ctrl+k), Render tab and verify that the Separate Process is checked. If the render process just hangs with FFRender on then try lowering your bucket size (ctrl-y) to 16-24 and see if that helps. I have an animation that uses 3d motion blur. Please not that when you render in a separate process, the render engine cannot automatically reduce bucket size to counter a low memory situation. Therefore please start with a lower bucket size (8-16). http://brian.e-frontier.com/4DancingSkeletons_BR.movThread: Could use some help with runtime error | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Since it's a Poser 5 issue, I wonder if it's from this old Poser 5 problem: http://www.e-frontier.com/article/articleview/804/1/345/ XML parse errors can occur if you have a library (either created in Poser 5, or an old Poser 4 library) that has one of the following characters in the name: quote (") apostrophe (') ampersand (&) less than () (These may not cause a problem, but may be problem characters) back slash () slash (/) This issue is addressed in our Poser 5 SR 4 updater. Download our SR 4 UPDATER. -That has a link to the last Poser 5 SR4 updater. Thanks, -Brian

Hi Sharon, Is this problem still occurring for you? Does it persist if you use Stefan's request to try it with Hardware Shading turned off? Thanks, -Brian

If you are rendering with Separate Process (General Preferences > Render tab) turned on, please note that when you render in a separate process, the render engine cannot automatically reduce bucket size to counter a low memory situation. Therefore, please start with a lower bucket size (for example, 8-16) and see if that eliminates the issue. Regards, -Brian

If you are rendering with Separate Process (General Preferences > Render tab) turned on, I am confident that adjusting render settings can help. Please note that when you render in a separate process, the render engine cannot automatically reduce bucket size to counter a low memory situation. Therefore, please start with a lower bucket size (for example, 8-16) and see if that eliminates the issue. Regards, -Brian
Thread: Poser 7 Crashing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi Tirjasdyn, In regards to "Render settings: use displacement, raytrace and shadows on. It crashed on a 64 bucket and a 100 bucket. I have moved it to a 50 bucket and it was still rendering when I left this morning. Size is 2000 x 2041." If you are rendering with Separate Process (General Preferences > Render tab) turned on, I am confident that adjusting render settings can help. Please not that when you render in a separate process, the render engine cannot automatically reduce bucket size to counter a low memory situation. Therefore please start with a lower bucket size (8-16) and see if that eliminates the issue. Regards, -Brian
