Thread: Question for Mac Users | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Further update on the issue with the Radeon Card. Just for S&G, I swapped monitors, making the monitor on the Radeon card the primary, and the monitor on the onboard video the secondary. D|S loaded faster than I've ever seen it load!!! So... if I have the better video card installed, but it is not the active monitor, D|S will quit unexpectedly. I had to do some creative work with a soldering iron, but now my 21 inch Colorsync monitor is now attached to the VGA port on the Radeon card, while the 15" vga monitor is attached to the onboard video via a VGA to Mac converter and all is right in the universe.

It was 9.1.6 The issue, however, is resolved. My ATI Radeon card was causing this. As soon as it was pulled from my system, Daz Studio worked. I guess I'll have to convince the wife to let me get a new video card, considering the one pulled was the first PCI Radeon card for macs produced.
Thread: Question for Mac Users | Forum: DAZ|Studio
When I start it up. At the dialogue to look for content. If I tell it to search, it searches from / I happen to keep all of my content on a separate volume on my Mac, about 10 GB worth of poses, props, characters, faces and hair Whether I tell it to search or not, as soon as the application itself tries to load, it crashes with the message that it quit "unexpectedly" If you were able to get it to run, even with a few glitches under 10.2.8, I suppose I can try and reinstall jaguar on my Mac. People keep telling me to upgrade to Panther, I'm hesitant to do so, since I'm using a Gossamer G3 (Beige Desktop) with a G4 processor upgrade. I know I can install Panther if I use XPostFacto, but I don't want to shell out the money for a copy of Panther if it will work under Jaguar, and I won't have to risk losing what functionality I do have.

I guess I'll have to go with the magnets, since The Tailor is availabloe only for Windows. I'll take a look at the tutorial. Thank you.

Interesting. I just went to the site, getting the following: "Ironing out the last few issues. Well be back up tomorrow (Wednesday) in the A.M. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope everyone had a great holiday. As you can tell, PoserStyle has had some fun. We should be back up soon... -sting" Looks like PHP isn't running correctly on the server. Since the forums and content there are PHP driven, I'm assuming the registration process is as well. Their static pages are loading fine (no images) but anything involving PHP isn't working.
Thread: P5 on Mac OSX crashes after rendering a movie | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Out of curiosity... Which version of OSX are you running? I'm assuming since you're on a G5, that you're running Panther. For what it's worth, I haven't had any problems with short clips and crashes in P5 and OSX 10.2.8 Then again, I'm on a G4 with 384 MB of RAM. I may try leaving my mac up and running for a few days and see if the memory issue raises its ugly head with me.

Well, she's only 10, so I'll let her play around with 3 for now before I decide to purchase an additional PC copy of Poser 5 (The Poser 5 copy I own is Mac OS only) True, the textures are limited, but at least my daughter can use the same "cool people" she saw me working on (for my wife's FFRP campaign, not my daughters, left that out in my last post) instead of the "sucky" people that came with poser 3.
Thread: Poser 1 <----------> Poser 2 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Never had poser 1 & 2. Still have Poser 3. (A Mac/PC Hybrid CD, no less) I just purchased 5 for OSX on my mac. My 10 year old saw me working with it to create some scenes for her FFRP campaign and asked if I could put it on hers. Wasn't about to shell out the money for Poser 5 for her windows PC, so I put Poser 3 on her computer (Windows 2000) it's running great. Also had to bring it in to work, since our boss wanted a couple of things done. Vicki and Mike, btw work in Poser 3... at least on the PC side they do. Now... if I could just figure out how to get poser's blankety-blank-blank-blank hair room to work so I can add hair to this one figure!!!

Had to scan two of my BGC Tokyo 2040 covers. basically, I'm looking for Linna's hairstyle... short in the back, long on the sides. I inhale, exhale, and masticate big time when it comes to hair in Poser. i just spent the last few hours with a printout of a tutorial and a section of the manual and *still* couldn't even get hair to grow!This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
