I was considering having it render to an external hard drive and the second it finishes rendering, bash my cpu with a hammer. the problem with that is you need deep pockets to buy a new cpu after every avi render.
isnt there a windows setting somewhere where you can associate certain file types to certain players. maybe you can set avi to open with nothing.

i think if you put the image on a background prop (one sided square) but first make the square huge like a 5 or 10 thousand percent larger, then scale everything else much bigger so that square appears normal size, i think it renders at the resolution closer to what the original picture was. try it im not sure just experimenting

When is mimic 2 coming? I think i know the main problem with mimic. The bottom teeth show too much and the top teeth don't show enough. Thats why it looks like they are eating hamburgers. Nobody talks where you can see their bottom teeth that much. Oh but thats not based on renders. I havent rendered anything with mimic yet.

Ok apparently it was supposed to be shipped by US mail, but they still overcharged for shipping. Also they did agree to refund my 30% so all is good. Please disregard previous post.

I ordered mimic from them, paid like $5 for ups they sent it first class for 83 cents, and pocketed the difference in shipping charges. It came in a plastic little 5 cent case with mimic written on the disc and no manual. Furthermore they put it on sale 30% off for customer appreciation week 5 days later and I have yet to hear back on a refund of 30% off. Interestingly ironic is the 30% off is specifically called "customer appreciation week". For these reasons alone I'm certain their new program that they are developing to compete with poser will do financially well. Everyone that orders it can overpay for shipping, it won't come in a box, and the manual will be a xeroxed page saying turn on computer put in disc. Seriously if you are going to run a business do it right or step aside and proceed to get rolled over.

Yes your way works better, but my way would involve reams of paper and messy hair and the chance to tell people that walk in that please they just don't understand i'm an artist in the middle of synchronicious calculations involving such things as rendering and P5's. My eccentric look and manner of speaking will confirm in their minds that I am a genius, and then I wont have to use creative means to prove myself as a worthwhile person anymore and we can all go out for pizza.

What if i calculate my frame rate in preview and set mimic to that frame rate output, then for final render readjust mimic back to proper render framerate?
