hmm, this is a tough one. if youre trying to achieve an effect like her skin being torn away and the metal showing through from underneath (on her abdomen) then try shadowing the inner edges of the holes to simulate depth. right now it looks too 2D.

my fiancee left me yesterday. she was the one... ive known it all along. but we went through some hard times, and she just gave up trying. i know that i will feel the tremendous weight of regret and loss for the rest of my life. but i still love her so much, i truly hope that she will forget me and be free -- live a good life without regret.

Thats the Daz T-Rex and texture, and Vicky2. I was just bored and inspired by seeing Jurassic Park 3 (an awful movie, btw) and whipped this up in a few min. That T-Rex is a major pain in the @$$ to pose. Bia -- you ever hear of cottage-cheese thighs?

I think you should correct that to "Tiffany Mac Lachlan is now available in my store", I think the above is misleading to say the least.

Lalverson is referring to 'Solondra'. I like the model, its a very high res nude female model (she has more polys in one breast than Vicky has in her entire head, lol). Its just disappointing that there are no textures/clothing available for her. Ah well, I really think he should drop the price on it -- it costs more than Vicky2 yet has virtually no support, less morphs and a few little bugs. Overall its good to have though, because its a completely new character and its great for high-res body shots.
Thread: will light pass through solid areas of a trans map? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Someone in the gallery discovered an answer to this problem simply by messing with transparency while trying to imitate silk. An object with greater than 50% transparency will not cast shadows. Less than 50% it will cast shadows. Seems 50% is the cutoff point. So you could try really strong light shone through your transmap set to 49% trans. But I doubt it will work. Youre going to have to model the leaves yourself.

Oh, and veamon -- I forgot to mention..."8 hours TO GO" :) Its been rendering for over 6 already. Hehe. The above link was rendered by a friend in Bryce (not Mental Ray or a complex raytracer). The .br4 (bryce file) is over 600MB in size and took him about 40 minutes just to open on a high-end machine. The rendering time was almost a day at a modest resolution. I feel so bad because I kept bugging him about making the trees in the treeline non-uniform, sporadic and not all on 90 degree angles to the earth, and it caused him to re-render it about 3-4 times :)Thread: Just messing around... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes veamon, I'll post it. Its just a hajime sorayama styled cyborg woman, and the chrome and water refractions are taking forever for mental ray to render. I rarely miss an opportunity to ridicule the inadequacy of the Poser rendering engine, but I have to admit that lately I've been considering that it only takes a minute or two to render a 3000x3000x300dpi complex image, complete with bumps/textures/transmaps/reflection maps, compared to hours in other programs. I realise thats because they are using raytracing renderers, radiosity, caustics, etc, but in the end it comes down to the fact that Poser renders what it was made to do, and it does it FAST. I cant complain. So I formally apologise to 'Poser' for mocking its rendering engine, which is probably the fastest (even though it lacks high-end features) of any 3D suite out there.

Thread: Vicky2 / Asia rendering locks... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Before you upgrade your RAM, upgrade your operating system to Windows 2000. Win98 is the source of your problems. I can render Vicky2 with the Daz High-Res textures (the most resource-intensive textures of them all, far more so than Asia) on an AMD K6-2 450 with 128 MB of RAM, running Win2K Professional. However, when trying to render the SAME scene on my other machine -- a machine thats 10x as powerful (T-Bird 1100Mhz, 640MB of RAM, 64MB Geforce2 Ultra) -- running Win98 or ME it freezes almost ALL of the time. Win9x has very poor memory management skills, and that is the root of your problem. Even if you were to add a GB of RAM to your machine you would still freeze under 9x. (And yes, WinME is a 9x OS -- its just a glorified win98)

That hair is just too 'Noel Gallagher' for me to use in anything serious. Try scaling it a little larger, it looks way too plastered on as it is.

Thread: Eyebrow Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
To clarify my above post -- load the Brow & Lash Trans map in the Transparency map field and then set the Min/Max transparency values to 100%. Do the same for the lashes (I see you already have a transmap loaded but you should set the object color to a darker shade).
Thread: Eyebrow Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, that really isnt a solution -- it just hides the problem. What you need to do is do a search in free stuff for Brow & Lash Trans for Michael (grab the one for Vicky as well). Then apply that transparency to both the upper and lower eyebrow materials and set the material color to black or brown or whatever color you want his eyebrows to be. Eyebrows painted on the texturemap don't even come close to the realism that is achieved by layered transmapped brows. Good Luck
