I would consider that, but it's practically impossible to save an 8-bit image with an alpha mask out of a paint program. I would also have to disect each pixel thats drawn in my drawing code, or do some mask (pixel & 0x0F) or whatever. There's also another problem with anti-alaising. At the scale I render, it usually ends up just making the images look blurry. All of the texture turns into a mess. Thanks for the help though
Thread: How can I render better small images (aka game graphics)? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Mason-> I'm using my own 2D game renderer. It also does alpha and supports image alpha-masks (like PNGs). The problem is that this game has super-mega-tons of frames for each character. So each character will use 8 bit images with their own palette. If I give them all alpha masks for every frame, it will double the size to 16 bit. Becco_UK-> The Firefly renderer places garbage in the background color, even when saving as PNG. This can be seen if you take a FireFly render into a paint program and use FloodFill without any tolerance adjustment. It's fine for art renders, but not good for games, where I would have to filter 1000's of images for 100's of characters. I'll probably just have to accept the glitches and just touch-up the important frames (like walking/standing) manually. I still appreciate the help though, Jiia

I would have to pixel-resize with no anti-aliasing, and that usually means missing eye balls and such when scaling at such a level. Thanks for the suggestion though

To all who were wanting to get vicky's clothing to fit the PT version of her: The problem is with the joint parameters. It's a very simple fix, though. Editing joints is extremely easy, once you know what all of the green and red circles and lines are. Check out the pdf manual in your poser directory. It tells you everything you need to know. You can either edit PT vicky joints to match victorias, or all of the joints for victoria's clothing that you want to fit PT (the more difficult). Not much help, I know.

Who3d > I can send you a morph pose of her if you like. Just let me know how you need to get it.

I'm sorry to those who wanted to know the exact details of getting V2 clothes to fit preteen vic, but I haven't even had the chance to try yet. You may be right about the joints being off, too. AprilYSH is correct, though. Better off just using Vicky 2. V3 huh? I just hope her default shape is more natural this time. Freelance 3D artists don't usually have the time to add all of V2's morphs, and since the clothes fit her default shape, the end user gets stuck with the job of customizing in a modeler.

You're both correct. I found quite a few dials on V2 that matched exactly. The "young" face, "small hips", ect. Scaled her body about 82%, shortened her shins, and few other things. I feel a little ripped off, now that I've almost recreated what I payed extra for, ha. Oh well, that happens. At least I know how to make the clothes fit her now.

I think the "as morph target" prevents scaling, positioning, and rotating. It only allows applied morph targets to pass through. I'm not sure about magnets, as I don't use them much. You can leave the "as morph target" unchecked, as long as you make sure the figure hip and body positions are zeroed.

Thanks for both of your help. But my graphics are for a video game, not a movie. And some characters have up to 550 frames of animation for just one equip state :) But to reduce the colors to my palette, I first have to combine all of the frames into a single image as cells. Little Dragon's idea gave me another one. I can make everything else on the figure transparent except for the texture or image, render them normally, then just paste the entire thing over the cartoon version. Thanks a lot, Jiia
Thread: ok, what happened to the Freestuff download counts???? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ha ha, I noticed this too. Has everyone stopped downloading, or is there a plague that I didn't hear about? Jiia

One way would be to use morph targets to adjust her feet. The walk designer doesn't mess with morphs, so if you adjust her feet to look correct with the "bends" set as default, I believe she would look correct walking. Jiia
