Yep. This is the easiest way. Sometimes easy is good. Only problem is if the OP doesn't have the video app to invert and flip the frames.
True, so:

Thread: (Almost) any long hair that can clothify and not fall apart? [how can I find/rec | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Awesome comments - will likely try all of them. I especially appreciate Joe's consideration that a combination could produce a realistic bouncy, curly, physically affected result.
[more ideas welcome too!!!] - I'm also willing to consider straight, long, no-widow's peak hair if someone wants to recommend a good one.
Thanks,

Thank you.
I noticed on this Smith Micro tutorial that it says "Poser Pro is required" at the top. I believe that is wrong... can someone clarify?

Thread: Poser, alternatives to FireFly and game engines... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - ...Be advised that these alternative render engines have another major drawback if throughput is an issue. They are slow. Very slow. As with most things in the world there is a tradeoff between speed and quality.Â
I don't have TIME for these alternatives. If you do, then be prepared to put the effort in that ArtBee and others are warning you of, and be willing to wait MUCH longer for the results.
TIME is why I chose Octane - unbelievably fast - but you pay for it (licenses + hardware).
Thread: Semi OT: Now that Halloween is over I can say this | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Although these images don't seem to affect me (I ignore and move on), videos do (never watch 'em anymore).
However, what would help EVERYONE is better classification of images & marketplace items!Â
First, SEARCH SUCKS on Renderosity. M.a.j.o.r.l.y. Classifications / Hierarchical tags would help tremendously.
Second, I'd appreciate a filter!! Nude-doesn't matter, Gore OFF. Or if showing the site to others at work or shopping for models with friends, nude off, gore off.Â
Please?
Thread: How to make hair work (not intersecting the face)? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Now, we are assuming that you are having these problems with the hair conformed to the model. These issues usually appear after applying a pose to the figure not so much in the T-stance.
My current figure is a head shot and, although not a T-stance (arms are at least down :) ), head is in the same position. Plus the hair is meant for the figure. So, I'll use the magnet-then-dials approach. :)

Thanks!!
Thread: Some questions I have about Reality 3.0 - Anybody? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My experiences: First off, although I've owned and used Poser, Carrara, Bryce, (even Animation Master) for years, I'm more a casual user than anything else [read: perpetual newbie] to rendering.
However, I have a specific look in mind and I won't give up until I get it. And I think I've almost found it... using Poser 9+Lux, using Reality. Â I have a very high polygon face + hair setup. Â At least in Poser, it looks very wrong no matter how I play with settings. And at 1280x1280, Poser 9 just stops/aborts rendering with a partial-hair frame and a subscattered face. Anything less size still looks bad for materials. Â To be fair, I'm probably doing it wrong.
However, the same setup is unbelievably real in Lux. Sure, a 1280x1280 takes 5 hours to get to 200 samples per pixel (my base minimum), and 50 hours to get to 10k (wonderful). [Machine: i7(dual)-win8-16gb and a terrible graphics card (NVIDIA 640) plus one slave (i5)].
This has inspired me to go deeper. LuxRender's CURRENT GPU set up (1.2.1), I've found, is broken - causing bad white spotch looks (perhaps it's NVIDIA vs ATI on OpenCL). If you have a bad image, try turning off GPU [for now]. Version 1.3 (within a month or two) has much better GPU (and has daily to weekly pre-stable downloads to use now).
I tried a NVIDIA 660ti and, with the drivers bombing with Lux, read that (supposedly) NVIDIA cripples (or doesn't fix/doesn't improve) their drivers regarding OpenCL. All I know is, I installed everything (even the partially hidden OpenCL drivers available on NVIDIA's site) and their card still doesn't work / drivers bomb.
Soon, I'll be trying an ATI RADEON 7970.Â
Bottom line is, I see the best reality in Lux and with Lux continually improving their engine, including GPU, I'd rather put my resources in hardware and have multiple rendering engines to choose from. Reality does an EXCELLENT job of bridging Poser to Lux.

Yes, I read your comment on the other thread - I'd be happy to see that too... But I still don't know how to enact the 'non-nirvana' method... how? Thanks, Jim Gale

Mark : Actually, I would appreciate an example or pointer to a tutorial to make sure I get the steps right. thanks!
Thread: Time rendered in animation | Forum: Carrara
I would create an AVI of a timer/clock/stopwatch/digital - whatever. And then use it as a Rotoscope on whatever surface you want. Would that concept fit your needs? -Jim Gale
Thread: I can't be the only one having this Carrara problem. Am I? | Forum: Carrara
Actually yes (I guess it's a good start if you can tell without anything but the cutout) - that's intended to be a steel razor blade (rather than the silk/gummy-bear razor blade that Carrara makes it to be). Thanks for the response!! -Jim Gale
