The reason the discussion is going on here is most likely because here is where most of the grumbling and such is occurring.
As for the rest? Couldn't care less, really. I usually don't go to the DAZ forums becuase there's way too much discussion churn for my tastes, and thinking about an issue instead of having to whip out a first thought just to get heard leads to less insight, IMHO... a curse of being a popular forum, I guess. Slashdot has a similar problem.
It happens here, because HERE you CAN voice an opinion and not have it deleted because yanno, thats the way DAZ is. Cant say nothing at all that isnt prim and proper or make a statement that isnt OOOH, WOW, thats so AWESOME. Complain about something and poof, its gone.

Well unlike most people, I tend to avoid the threads that become nothing but a ridiculous childrens sandbox battle. I dont read them, nor do I care. I would like to have the correct information though, but you can never get past the HE said SHE said crap. It all getting to be just a bit stupid for me. So, nope, didnt read that.
I do have concerns that most of the stuff being released is Genesis only. I hate the installers, but I still shop at daz when a nice building comes out. That is about all I get anymore that can still be poser compatible.
I also hate the fact that loud opinions are deleted, threads are locked, etc... cant say you dont like anything anywhere anymore.

This is why there is such annimosity between the two program followers. Instead of immediately bashing somebody that posts, why dont we all show some contraint and be the "bigger person". Let the man answer honest questions that arent hostile?

do you mean on the colored bars or do you mean the floor?
You need to make sure that when you render, the raytrace box is checked in your render settings, theres no reason why using that node shouldnt work. ;)

So I am curious now, are you guys trying to prove that this isnt possible and that he lied in what he made the animation in? If you really want to know, why dont you just contact the guy and find out, instead of speculating and trying to make him out to be some kind of bad guy. I just dont understand the point of tearing his work down to frames. shrug
