Well, I have to echo mikeerson's thoughts... well, sorta. Â
I bought my camera a couple summers ago to have one available for keeping track of a progress in couple projects and maybe do something more with it. Â I don't really know what I'm doing, but I've found that youddon't always have to - regardless of medium - and if I do anything further with photgraphy, it's likely going to be screwing around in the hopes of getting something I think looks good or just experimenting with different techniques. Â
I'm actually surprised that I managed to get some half decent shots of fireworks, and that I got more than one or two usable shots out of it, using two of the camera's presets (and the fireworks setting doesn't seem to work so well holding the camera by hand).
Anyhoo, enough rambling from me. Â Thanks for including one of my shots in this feature. Â I'm not much of a photographer and may never be; any time I upload a photo is because I think it's something that is good enough to show others, even if I don't have the skills or knowledge to make it a great one.Â

What about Zygote's human anatomy figures?

You need a new hard drive to hold your Poser stuff and really should upgrade to a DVD burner, just so you don't have to shuffle through several discs to that that perfect item for your latest project.

Downloading now. This should get me a bit more interested in playing around with Bryce some more. Haven't used it a whole lot since I bought the new version. Hopefully, that'll change.
Thread: cannot apply texture to SUDI boots!!! help please | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The most recent is 0.7, which included the boots, top and pants. I remapped and hacked the thing apart (mostly merging some materials and a couple minor tweaks) while looking for an updated version. I sent an e-mail a while back, but no response regarding a newer version.
You can find the armor here > http://www.geocities.com/sculpey.tw/sudi.html
Unfortunately, the page with the more recent stuff (version 0.7. is no longer online), but you might be able to track it down.

I don't know if there are any freebies out there. As for making them, that's a different area. Anyhoo... I just made one not too long ago, but my modelling skills are somewhat lacking.
All I did was take an abdomen and remove some polys to get the belt shape in Rhino. Save. For the gilt (metal), remove polys from your belt until you're satisfied. Save that too. I took both into Amapi and thickened them, just enough to give them depth. Save. Map as needed. Time: under half an hour.
You may need to subdivide your mesh(es) to get the best shape, especially for the gilt. I didn't bother making it posable or anything, though I probably should do so for wearing the title on the shoulder or holding above the head. And even then it would probably only require a a total of 3 to 5 groups to accomplish that. Again, that's a bit more on the modelling side.
Thread: does anyone else have these problems with D/s? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I'm with Questor on the quality of renders under 3Delight. I did some comparison shots between Poser 3 (yeah, I know... it's seriously outclassed...), D|S and Bryce 5. Bryce was hands down the best, but P3 still did a good job on a few of the things I did. I've notcied striping on a few models as well (namely MayaDoll), and some props don't render as smoothly either; Caleb's Puzzle Cube is a good example - in D|S, I can actually see the individual parts that make up the box.
I hated the interface too, until I figured out that I can group all the tags together in one window so I can see what I'm doing. Still, it would be nice to be able to define my window size and not have to hope I get all of what I want when I render (or use render to disk, which I use almost all of the time). I also can't use direct manipulation (maybe my POS puter's too slow to realize what I'm trying to do), so I have to manually select everything and painstakingly move everything with the dials - which I don't mind doing when fine tuning, but I shouldn't have to use all the dials just to move my figure into a position I want to work on.
Now if only I could pose figures and not have the hair wander off somewhere in the distance...

I'll give it another shot when I fire Poser up again. At least I know I was looking at the right things. Thanks much.

I did delete the .RSR file when using the remapped file (the one with the same name as the original). For the new versions, I had renamed them and changed references to the original in existing .CR2's to the new name and directory. I made sure everything was the same case and that I had the right directory (in my case ../Runtime/Geometries/Revelation - no go. If I recall correctly, I got an error message saying C Exception Handler or something like that. The remapped version works perfectly when I replace the original with it (renaming the orignal to preserve it). Is there any other line in the CR2 that I need to look at other than figureResFile?

I did e-mail them about it, and I did e-mail elgyfu as well. The site kept giving me problems every other page as well, something that made me not want to stick around very long. My German's rusty, but I recall enough of it to get around and saw no other place to go.

On the first page: Poser 4 MAC engl. On the second page: Poser Pro Pack, WIN, EN, DEMO I don't see one labeled Poser 3, nor do I see multiple versions. Am I missing something here?

Thanks for the replies. $100 to $139 or so isn't bad, but I'm pretty much in a state of being broke, so money's much tighter than I'd like. I'll check out that German site (thankfully, I am still somewhat fluent in German), and I'll also send an e-mail off as well.
