Yes I have the same problem. It really makes the program unusable. I will try turning off open GL.

Thanks for the responses.
Dynamic hair will be new in C6. For the hair here is a animation:

Ther is an overview of the new features here that also show some pics with the hair.

There will not be Dynamic cloth with C6 at first. I understand they are working on the Dyn cloth system and will sell it as a plug in for very cheap when its done.

Tahnks for all your responses on this topic and others. In general you seem pretty objective about your poduct and so I would like your opinions on this. I'm sorry to put you on the spot since its your own software I'm askign to compare, and if anyoen else wants to chime in let me know.
I have not used either C4d or Carrara
How does the IPP and C4D combo compare to C6? (based on experience with c5pro and with the assumptions the claims of c6 are reasonably accurate)
I am somewhat like opera Guy in what I want ot accomplish. Realistic animations. However, I am not interested in modeling.
What are some things one or the other does that animators of poser content really like/need and the other doesn't have.
I have not really seen many decent realistic human renders in Carrara - other than Schoners -which I thought was great. It seems so many are of orange people or something. I'm not sure.
Wolf I know you used to use Carrara. It seems you switched to C4d. Why?
Please compare the following if possible:
Lip syncing methods?
What about if you want allot of figures in a scene?
what about render speed/quality?
thanks

I'm not interested in getting into Poser versus Daz argument. I'm intereseted in buying C6 but I do not know what it will get me for animation. What animation tools does it have that Poser doesn't?
I understand the render engine is much faster and better able to use multi core and renderfarm. That is a big advantage but It sounds like an upgrade to poser pro will do that as well. Plus if Collada works in poser pro out I may be able to render in some other apps fairly easilly.
Are there other animation benefits to C6?
The downside is I will nto be able to use python scripts right?
Any responses appreciated.
Thread: Carrara and Multiple Processors...very cool | Forum: Carrara
Thanks for the info. I was getting a quad core and hoped to get a MB that would take two of them. But it doesn't seem possible now.
But its nice to knwo the 8 cores work with carrara.

I have to agree with the first poster P7 rocks.
I am still gettign used to layers and it is a very powerful feature for animators. A tutorial would be nice but what I ahve learned so far is great.
The morph tool is very easy and also very powerful.
I have no out of memory issues.
The preview mode is much improved.
I haven't even started using the universal poses.
I only use P7 and won't go back to P6. IMO This is a huge step forward.

Its not that I have any sort of deep rooted hatred of pornography, although I don't condone it.
I am saying marketing and branding is not always rational. We can talk about whether people are rational or correct for thinking this or that but it is really irrelevant in the realm of public opinion. There may in fact have been some really interesting articles written in Playboy. But because of the stigma of being a porn mag it will have a severely restricted market. My mother in law loves reading interesting articles, but I'd be an idiot to give a copy of playboy to her for a gift. Nor woudl I recomend you put the magazine out in the lobby of your insurance agency or doctor's office.
Smart marketers don't try to argue with public perception (unless they absolutely must) they try to adjust to public perception. If showing off your software at a porn expo will cause people to look at your software as a smut tool, and it will, don't do it. Yes even if that perception is misguided.
Microsoft was probably not there showing how you can use internet explorer to find pornography. If they were it would be very stupid for at least 2 reasons that also apply to poser.
1)The use of the software for porn is obvious anyway. (With poser its not like you need to remind men that 3d images of women, like other images of women, can be arousing. )
2)They don't want people equating using thier program with using pornography.
I think the same should apply to e-frontier. Appearantly they disagree. Oh well.

Well I do agree with the original poster. IMO Poser should distance itself from the porn industry. Its not like you need to advertise it can be used for porn! Even the the stupidist pervert can see that you can pop a naked Woman in the program.
While they are busy advertising how Poser is used for porn (too supposedly inform someone as dumb as a box of rocks of this potential) Im much less likely to tell any family or friends I use the program - and indeed much less likely to use it.
If you are going to advertise to the porn market you better be ready to make that your only market. Your program will get an embarrassing taint for the rest of the world.

Ok so, fortunately, my rant was uncalled for in regard to core "2". But after reading the wikipedia article on core 2 and all the different confusing code names, they had it coming.
Thread: Quad core and Poser 7 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Core = 32 bit
Core 2 = 64 bit
Thank you that clears allot up for me. Woudln't you know techies would decide to confuse people by having "2"="64 bit" in thier lingo. Yes I do see that 64 is 2xs 32 and they probably no longer sell 16 bit processors,(.5 processors??) but core 64 would be the obvious choice for someon who says what they mean. (Of course then they would say what do you mean core 64? we don't have 2,048 bit processors yet!)
It is certainly a good idea if your intent is to confuse people. Espcially since they are now selling computers with 2 cpus that each have 2 cores. Why not refer to the "64 bit" as "2" as well?

How much will the update on poser physics cost? Content paradise lists Poser [physics as an EF product. I would liek to buy it before my $10 coupon runs out but I don't want to buy a version if the patch will be more than the $10 :)
Thread: Any word on a VueSkin shader for V4 yet? | Forum: Vue
Dave thanks for the update
Just to be clear, there is no reason to wait on buying Skinvue 6 for compatibility with the new poser figures or V4.
When you have them ready all skinvue users will get that added for free?
