Thanks for the info Jennifer. My original intention was just speculation on a possible release date for Poser 5. I didn't really mean to start a debate about the book. The only how-to book I've ever purchased was the Real World Bryce 4 book and I thought it was quite good. I do remember that e-on software didn't give notice of Vue 4 till just a few weeks before it shipped. Same with Bryce 5 too, I think. So we may not even know it's coming till it's on us. Fingers crossed for a release this year.

This author has written several books for graphic apps and most are panned pretty badly in in the reader reviews at Amazon. I have never bought or even read one, so I really can't comment. I am NOT recommending this book! Just starting crazy rumors on the the release of Poser 5! I was just browsing Amazon since I got 10% off coupon to lure me back since I haven't ordered anything from them in about a year. All my money goes to the MP here and Daz. lol. Anyway, just wanted to share the info. I mostly lurk here, but I thought this was "post worthy" I know we'd all like to see P5 as soon as possible.

The tutorial is great. Thanks! What I'd like to know is what makes it work one some XP systems and not others. It's bound to be something that can be solved. Maybe the people that have it working could give you some very detailed info on their system configs so you could track it down. Also, the link to turn off any unneeded services would be nice if anyone has it. I'm sorry to drag this thread out, maybe I should take it to the Poser Technical forum? This is one amazing app and I'd like to keep the hope for an XP solution alive!

This is one awesome app! Grrrrr, I wish I could get it to work with Poser up. I spent several hours trying to figure it out, but I'm at a complete loss. There's lot's of services running in XP and I saw many could be changed in their properties. I didn't make any changes since I don't want to break my PC trying to fix one app. Any ideas? Another thing... I only log in with as one user. Does anyone have multiple users and log in as admin? Maybe that makes a difference to the file system. The Microsoft knowledge base is pretty extensive. I think I'll go look aroung there. Maybe something like this is covered. But regardless, PBooost is a "must have" utiltity since the the arrival of mat files. It makes using Poser fun again and not so fustrating. Thanks so much Hogwarden. And I do hope the support of those like me will encourage you to continue to try to get it working under XP.

It does not work for me under XP home edition with fat 32. I upgraded from WinME. Not a clean install. You think a clean XP install would help? It's still quite useful to sort everything before loading Poser if you know what you're gonna need. I really hope a solution is found, because PBooost makes Poser a whole lot less tedious.

It works great with Mike 2 using muscular body 3. Only very minor tweaking needed. The male body jewels are FREE when you buy all three female body jewel sets. This is a great incentive as they are all excellent. You can "mix and match" the female jewels for lots of different looks.

I got Mike2 ok last night, but I had the same problem (no dl link) earlier in the week. Several emails went unanswered for 2 days before I broke down and called the 800 number. That got me going real quick. Unfortunatly, that's not an option for right now. I love Daz products, but I've spent a few sad weekends over the past year without my purchases. And, hardly a weekend passes without someone complaining in this forum about this same issue. I think they need to take a serious look at customer support. I've never had but one problem in the Renderosity Marketplace and it was solved, on a weekend morning, in a matter of minutes. Great support here.

I got a response from Ms. Harders and I'm all set now. She sent me another link to try snd that fixed my prob. She is so nice and her texture work is amazing. Tammy, senior Mike looks great. You should find the terrains under the "props" tab. Super plateau is the one I use most often. Be sure to put a figure in your scene first and then use one of the preset lights from the kit. This will insure that all of the scene is lighted properly. As leather-guy mentioned, there's excellent PDF docs included. Print em out. :) Best of luck. 3D worlds is a posing adventure in itself. Yes! This the best lighting I've ever seen for Poser. I've spent hours rendering stuff with it. The softness is amazing. Get the baby dragon! It's a great buy, especially while it's on sale. I've bought a lot of stuff at Daz and this is one of my favorites! The lighting is a huge bonus.

What a great thread! I think it'd be kinda cool to have a forum just to review store stuff. I still consider myself a newbie, but I've bought a number of items here and at Daz. Here's my picks. Textures... Destiny (great morphs too) Kane (nuff said) Asia (requires some extra effort with lights, but the results are amazing) Michael's Face Morphs and Textures at Daz (I haven't seen these used a lot in the gallery, but they are top notch) Shelby (my favorite painted texture. The package is loaded with extras including lots of Jen's awesome poses) Hair... Anton's Changing Ponytail (pricey, but well worth it. I use it a lot. Get the expansion too) Wonder Wedge (the best hair for Michael IMO. Also works with Vicky and P4 peeps) Ultrasalon (My current favorite. Lots of looks) Other stuff I use a lot... VCFS and textures MCFS and textures (I'm so glad to get this! More great work from Anton and Dmentia) Craftsman Room Kit (great value. Many ways to customize the look of your room) Daz dragon Anton's Furniture at Daz Anton's Bonsai (I use it for trees and foreground plants. Works well in 3D worlds too) Sharky's Angelina Wings My current addictions... 3D World kit (I got Bryce 5 the same day, but I've spent more time with this kit. It's like a whole new Poser!) Ogre Textures at Daz (I don't know of any texture that renders better than these. Amazing work by Doug Sturk) Stuff I bought and seldom use... Vickie's Clothing Pack (For regular dress, I usually use V2P4 in Posette's stuff) Flip Hair V2 Light texture at Daz (ugh) Honorable mention... Dangerous Curves (Wow! I've never see a retail product as loaded as this free package! Thanks Ironbear) With incredible products like these, even a casual user like me can create stunning images. Keep em coming!

I received a link to the files from Daz tonight. It seems they don't work weekends, but I got lucky, I think. Anyway, the files are on the way! As a note, I was told the link to the Ogre maps was broken, so the store is OK except for those. If you need the ogre maps, you may want to wait till Monday to be safe. Thanks Daz!
