If your really want to know my honest opinion. The 2 closer images are less intresting. Im not favorable to the colors you chose for the dragon fly. I did not like those. Sorry but you said dont be gentle. The largest one "The Grudge (full view)" Is undoubtably one of the more intresting composite ive seen in a while. Great stuff to look at! The use of bnw is great. the subtle color is good also but i dont understand the importance of the dragonfly. If your were selling this full view grudge. which is the impression i get by your print size (amazing) I would buy it if the dragion fly was not there. The original abstract "Untitled" is very intresting on its own. I tried looking at the face and bug with my glasses on and off and one eye closed but i dont get the dragon fly. I do like the image very much you did a fantastic job. Im just givin my not gentle opinion.

Thread: How to get a real rating ! | Forum: Community Center
Ok Ironbear, Ill do my best to help. I'm going to need some help back because there are so many elements to go into a critique on renderosity i'll probably forget a few. Reason is because there are so many different mediums. In a traditonal way of critiques you have all the major elements of art: Line, shape, color, texture, value, and shape. But because were not talking about traditonal images here (ha) there is much more we have to keep in mind for example in 3d images you have more like Modeling, lighting, render quality, etc... ( i know im leaving out a lot here because im very new to 3d imaging like the tech stuff) If anyone can help add to this please do! I think it would be better if where it says: ATTENTION! The scale used in this gallery is now 1-10 If you give everything a 10, the ratings become useless, please use good judgement. It would include include some of the design elements or we could sudgest to critique on each elment like this: Modeling () Texture () Lighting () ect.. The same could be done for 2D galleries but with 2d design critiques. Of course lots of people wouldn't want to follow critiques and just give 10s becasue we are all on differnet learning levels. But you don't have to stay on that level. I'll get back to this with some more thought for an article soon. Thanks

If anyone would like me to submit a article on how to critique I'm sure I could work something up :)

I agree with that. I also think i would be good for other artist that are not really familar with critiqing art to be given examples of how to do so. I found that having my images open for ratings was pointless
