Thread: Those of you using Vue 9 Infinite..... | Forum: Vue
adding a little detail... -but probably not relevant-
the interface has changed
Vue 9 must look great on all of your yummy looking wide screens! :-D
I still stick with my old -once pricey- square Eizo screen (cuz of the quality) and can still use the drop down-button of which the very top is visible in 9Inf, but can't hit the render button, cuz it's out of sight.
(contacted E-on whether it's possible to switch to 'classic display' or ? and they said it isn't. But I suppose this is a 'good thing'. Bet I am 1 of the last 'dinosaurs' still using a square screen. ;-D)
Thread: how do i get 4 views back ? | Forum: Vue
The answer is 'no'... LOL
Focal lenght is 28 mm at the mom.
Thanks a lot... for all!!!
Distortion, a lot!, seems to be inevitable any way...

Hi Artur!
Really appreciate your efforts!!! :-)
Was 'just' wondering whether it is possible to enlarge the sky i.e. lower the horizon without tilting the camera... that much (which changes the POV dramatically)
(like you can raise & lower other levels, like water, ground or... )
It seems impossible, so this may be a stupid question? ;-D

If anyone would be willing to answer another question, it would be so much appreciated?!!
In the 'new' view, I would like to lower the horizon i.e. enlarge the sky...
(thinking about alpha planes, but it 'must' be possible? Is it??? ;-))

Thank you so much, Artur!
I don't like your image, I LOOOVE it! ;-D
Very impressive POV! It 'works'... ! :-)
Actually I had just found the Aspect ratio in the advanced camera options and going to send another 'don't bother, sorry' message. But glad with your reply!!! I went for the 'square' option, since 'vertical' was too narrow. (As always afraid to 'manually' mess up the original Vue settings). A4 should 'work' better!
Thanks again for your time and trouble... greatly appreciated!!!

Another question? ;-D
I was browsing the fora looking for hints how to get an 'upright' pic.

(WOW!)
I know how to select a render area, but should be able to 'adjust' the windows vertically?
Of course, the windows themselves can be altered, as you described here, but the content doesn't 'follow'.
?
THX? ;-D

... huge work, meant to be printed as a mural (!)
Totally impressed...
Thread: does poser 7 work with vue6? | Forum: Vue
In the last issue of 3DWorld (featuring bazze!) Poser Pro-on-test was rated 6 & 7... ( :-( LOL)
(saving for Vue 7 Inf. ... ;-))

Hi Bruno!
Thank you so much for your time & trouble!!!
Screengrab is a little difficult at the mom, since I only installed Vue, Poser & virus control so far... (and a wonderful little proggie I use 'all the time' called Ccleaner > www.ccleaner.com. It's free -careful while installing, it 'offers' the Google tool bar as well).
But since you are probably more familiar with the Vue interface than I...
top view is gray, side view is gray, front view gray, (meaning nothing there!), main camera view OK. As is everything on the right side (preview, material)...
Nothing in the scene shows up in other views than the camera view.
But when selected (whether a terrain or tree or ......) the 'outlines' show up in other views when you click them. As white lines on a gray background. You know... the outline frame on which you can pull, drag, shrink, etcetera.
Looks ridiculous, not good. ;-D
I have looked at display options, but don't seem to be missing check marks (or my english isn't good enough ;-D)
Thank you again!!!
Thread: I'm looking for hardware advice! New Computer!!! | Forum: Vue
Hi Xpleet!
T H A N K Y O U !!!
My machine, still bits 'n pieces at the mom, is almost there, here...
waiting for the discs & memory to arrive...
I have been soooo tempted to buy a 1024 Mb 8800-graphics card, but only found tests, based on which it would be a don't. As would even the $$9800...
So: Quad, Intel core 2 Q 6600, nVidia NX 8800 gt OverClock 512Mb & 8 gig ram a.o. will have to do... (cooler master 600 watt) ... and hopefully Vue does too (run, FLY?) ;-D
The case is covered with mesh... Vue is 'hot' and this is very 'promising'.... ;-D
because 'from our floors you can eat'...
In Dutch a proverb meaning the place is very clean, tidy and spotless.
Here it just means there is food on the floor... like hay and straw, since we share our life with 2 angorarabbits. ;-D
Never mind how often we vacuum, sweep or ..............
It doesn't look bad actually, our wooden floor being the colour of very light straw, kinda rural, but we also buy the dust that comes with it... ;-(
It only took 5 minutes for a piece of straw to be sticking out of the floppydisc-station of my newly bought laptop. (about 7 years ago ;-)). which wasn't on the floor...
I don't like computers in the living room... therefore I have laptops (and a tablet to 'wacom').
But our rabbits don't like me out of the living room... for ever?
Guess even this will become a 'mobile' system after all... ;-D
Perhaps it means vacuming twice a day?
Also bought a -second hand- Eizo screen (but not the 1 with the most digits before the dot! ;-)).
So waiting..... ;-)
THX!!!
Thread: versatile 64 bits download? ;-) | Forum: Vue
and the new box is as black as the interface... aaahhhhh
The new box looks terrific! ;-D
(you must have a long shelf! LOL)
the more colours & little pics, the happier I get, tsss... ;-D
didn't you looove the cards & cartboard 'wrap' in the V4 box? ;-D
(although I think CD's will live longer in plastic? ;-) Do they? THE reason to purchase a box!)
& and manual, yes (bought the book instead)
finally got Bryce 'in the flesh', but still no box, 'just' a (DVD)case... ;-D
Thanks a lot, Peggy!!!
(won't be needing any Vue 5 updates either, won't I? -born digiliterate here, sorry!-)
What about Mover? Last time didn't even install (in 5 Inf) and Poser-imports were just as good (or lousy). Mover is exit with Vue 6?
With the 6.5 update Vue finally started to 'behave'... on the laptop! That was good... also new! :-D
(Acer Aspire 1714 SMi, P4 3,4ghz, 2048 ram, almost 4 years old now...
but graphics card just nVidia 5700, only 128mb and it died... :'-( ).
Yesterday picked up the new card, nVidia NX 8800 gt OC 512mb (no good reviews for 8800gt 1024mb or even $$!9800!). Does any of you have more then 1 graph. card on board???
The case is covered with mesh! (Vue is HOT?) and it actually does have an exhaust pipe! -well, sort of- ;-D Waiting now for the memory & discs to arrive...
Thread: versatile 64 bits download? ;-) | Forum: Vue
Hi!
THX! THX!
No one said E-on charges for re-downloads! (except my twisted imagination, making up 'bad scenarios'? ;-D).
I know one can always ask for re-sets @ Cornucopia: fabulous support!!!
But E-on... can't recall what the exact message was- something like: back-up strongly recommanded, BECAUSE............. these are the only chanceS to download!
& download-link will expire within.......
Thankfully there were 2? downloads granted and OF COURSE my server went down at the first attempt! ;-D
Now I 'own' like 4 Vue 6 Infinites: on 2 external discs, on a 'good quality' CD, on a back-up CD... ;-D
But we all know these home-backed CD's can die after some time... ?
(and my Vue 'hierarchy' is hilarious! Vue 4 download + sidegrade Vue 4 pro (E-on CD from box) + upgrade Vue 5 Inf (E-on CD from box) + Vue 6 Inf download. Will be needing them all! ;-D Thus scary?)
Do I need every update btw? Or just the 6.5?
But I like your response, Peggy, thank you!!! :-D
Would be nice to have misunderstood?!!
As for E-on... 'they' do LISTEN though... :-D
In a survey (end of 2006?) I stated that I had no intention of buying Vue 6 whatsoever, because I thought it was outrageous the price was the same in Euro's as it was in dollars (you have to locate yourself on a map? ;-D), meaning we had to pay a couple of hunderd dollars MORE!
-end of 2006-
They altered that!!!
And better: best bargain for Vue 6 pre-release was for Vue4Pro AND Vue5Inf. owners...
owww, BLESS THEM!!! :-D
Boxed is definitely a good idea... I like these big boxes, especially the 4pro 1 with a set of (post)cards with Thomas Crahn pics...
BUT...
(containing also the bills ;-))
Vue 4 Pro sidegrade Euro 299 + Mover 5 E 99 = E 398
Also here: Poser 4, 6 & 7 boxed... I LOVED the package, containing Poser 7 upgrade.
It said: "value $10,-"! LOLLL
-wish they had said that before checking out ;-D -
Thread: versatile 64 bits download? ;-) | Forum: Vue
Hi Fixer!
T H A N K Y O U soooo much!!! Truely & greatly appreciated!!!
Does Vue tell??? (it's installing as 64 bit?)
(Not a coward and never a pessimist, still I was not looking forward to contact E-on... ;-D
Although I liked 'them' very!!! much when the download-link for the Extra's CD didn't work: very friendly & helpful!
But I most certainly do not intend to buy Vue again against full price, just because the system requirements were not too realistic... and couldn't either since I just spent 'the fortune' on a new machine (+ Eizo screen) ;-D
Can't imagine 'they' would ever suggest something like that, though, but still too?? clearly remember the warning with the download that there won't be any resets for ($$$$$$$$$!) Vue... Still fair enough, but still scary...?? ;-)
So, against everything I believe in... behaving a bit spooked. Forgive me? ;-D)
I know you have 8 gig... sort of copying your machines here! ;-D
Thanks a lot for your advice... again!!!

hi!
odd...?
may I please add another question?
I did order a system saturday... quad, 8 gig ddr2 & moooooore...
but since I had seen nvidia 8800gt at another store for less, we agreed I should buy that 1... to find out it was 256 mb & the box said ddr3...?????
I thought all 8800 gt's were -& should be ;-D - 512 mb... to discover there are even 1024 mb 8800 gt's and the price is still pleasant! (!)
help? LOL
-did I mention I'm a born digiliterate? ;-) -
any 'solutions' would be greatly appreciated!!!
could a 1024 card, by the name of nVidia 8800 gt, be used on a 600 or ... watt motherboard?
would you...???
