Ahh that would make sense, as a plane has no volume, you can't put something with a volume into the plane. Anyway, so are the volumetric clouds designed for a more in the clouds view? For example a rendering of a plane flying through clouds?
I am assuming that volumetric clouds can also be used for for, just apply the material to a sphere that is close to the ground?
Thank you

Sure gives you something to think about. Yes I would like to go to VUE 5, but with my 4x4 I can't quite afford it haha. I originally purchased vue 4 d'esprite because of its reduced price. I am thinking that I may have to bite the bullet and upgrade to 5 pro studio. An off topic question, when it comes to support when will e-on stop supporting vue 4d'esprit? - This will be a major deciding factor when it comes to upgrading.

Hmm, I will have to play around with this for a bit. Do some testing to see if it will infact keep the properties of raytraced images, however I am thinking there will still be a bunch of problems.
If worse comes to worse, I guess that I will have to render two images, one of my truck in 3ds, with a certain color background, and use a paint program to drop in the scene from vue. However with the reflections again, the reflective bits on the truck will probably not have a reflection of the environment. Unless I can figure out some way to render my vue scene to a hdri image which shouldn't (key word) be too difficult. Then I could use the HDRI image in MAX and get the appropriate reflections... Looks like this might be somewhat difficult!
Thank you for your responses!
