Thread: Changes to Poser post Version 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm leaning towards actually buying 2010.
I heard the rigging/skeleton is easeier to work now?
Course I get that from there sales so only non bias users could truely answer that, least for me. Version 6 was/is hard to manipulate.
No new charatctor animation tools. :-(
Thats a drag, one of the last areas I played in before my break form 3d (so long ago) was animation.
I was getting the hang of it but again it seemed like an area with lots of room for improvement.

Thanks for all the replies.

Many Thanks.
There used to be a free merchant utility...
I will look into this.

I see in the faq that there is a readme creator.
Also now curious if there are any other utilitys available for merchants?

Thread: Rendering shadows separately: how to put back together? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't know how it wight work in the software you mention but maybe this will help and or give you some direction.
In Photoshop this is how I do it.
Bring both layers in, any format but they must be the same size/resolution to overlap properly.
As I write this I wonder, Maybe pngs won't work? Keep that in mind.
With the Shadow layer on top. It should be mostly white with some grays and darker areas, these are the actual shadows.
Now select that layer and change it to "Mulitiply".
In Photoshop, if you want a darker shadow you can duplicate that layer.
Or if you want a lighter shadow you can either reduce the opacity or use the eraser at say 23% to erase some areas.
Want to make your own shadows?
Make a new layer (on Top), also set at multiply and paint some grays.
Hope this helps.

Thread: Help needed with prop parenting | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Occasionly I have similar problems parenting things yet they don't move with my figure.
I have no idea why, possibly a bug.
In all cases a fix was to reload the figure & prop and then re-parent them.
Also try parenting to the chest instead.
Good Luck.

Thread: Creating pz2 files the Texture kind | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
They are just for my self. I would never redistribute.
Thats pretty much what I did & it worked great.
But in some cases I will want a Bump & Displacment & I don't have a MAT pose with all the above.
I've got to get away from this for a day or two. But when I get back on it I'm going to try to find a MAT Pose with all of the above, point it to my custom folder & then use that as a template for future mats.
All personal use of course.
Thanks for all the replies they've been very very helpful!!!
Still though... How do the Merchants do it? I was hoping for some feed from them too. Guess not.

Thread: Renderosity Halloween Contest 2006: "Wake the Dead" | Forum: Contest Announcements
I've been browsing the many GREAT entries & though I still have more to go through, I haven't found any with exstensive text added to them.
Do they only want images?
Or can a Scene have a small paragraph of text or is it limited to titles?
Many Thanks.

Thread: Creating pz2 files the Texture kind | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well after a bunch of failed attempts I was uable to change a Cr2 to a pz2.
I opened a good pz2 MAT pose and compared it to my new one, making sure it began and ended the same.
After that failed I went back and got rid of other code that I belived to be figure type.
At one point I noticed my new pz2 did not have a Poser icon?
I went and copy & pasted my new info to a working MAT pz2.
At first my new pz2 wasn't even showing up in the runtime? Copy & pasting solved that but when I load it onto my figure some parts show transparent & the textures are the original ones not my new ones????
I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I think this, (code stuff), is more then I should be trying to digest.

[There are also Pythons in the Free stuff area to so MAT poses.]
I see these python scripts are pc based. I am going to try to run them through MAC converter.

[I'm kinda surprised you want to use one.]
Inexperience & the fact that all my other purchased items/figures do it this way.
Thanks for the help.
I haven't given up... Yet. :>)

Ah yes a "MAT" Pose. I knew I had that terminology wrong.
Thanks.
This software, though PC looks very interesting.
I will look into this further.
Something I always forget to add in these threads...
Running Poser 6 on a Mac
Your last paragraph looks like it might do the trick.
Is it easy to figure out, what to delete?
Many Many thanks!!!!

Thread: Boy Clothing | Forum: The MarketPlace Wishing Well
Many thanks for the input.
And some Excellent examples of what there is not any of.
C'Mon creators.
Create!
I read elsewhere that most creators create for the larger market.
I can understand that I guess.
I don't really know what putting fancy conforming clothing together involves but heres a thought...
If I create a shirt in the real world, in order to sell it many times over I have to create many shirts.
But here all they need is one file. And a place to store that one file & thats it, right?
Then it's Just a matter of collecting the checks even if there few & far between.
If someone was to put together a good package of fancy clothing for boys It would sell cause they would have a monopoly, so to speak.
Now girls clothing. Theres some competition.
And I just had an idea for a scene.
Hmmm...

I plan on checking with any said owners 1st but just wanted a general idea.
The real question was re; space for freebies.

Thread: Please... 8+ Lighting Help. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I too had hoped switching to SreeD would be a quick fix. Nope. Though have you ever worked with it on? Not to good. I was hoping there might be some quick click somewhere that I hadn't heard about. I selected one of the scenes 1st lights and deleted it. That's all it took, later I will replace that light. Odd shutting it off didn't give the same effect.? I'm moving forward otherwise, but am curious if there is an edit I can make to the pz3 file in text editor? Thanks for the replys. Scott
