This model was created in Maya and has all its UV's mapped. I have scrapped the shot and will look into this later. Deadlines are approaching and I dont have time for it now. But thanks for all that have replied and if I figure out the problem Ill post my results. Thanks again, Dave

I thought the same thing once I started getting the results I am. I figured I set a key frame on the texture some how but I have checked that and nothing on the model is animated. The model is attached to the animation wizard airplane motion path and the camera is linked to the glider. My test turning off double sided has failed because one the texture still flickers and two the alpha channel has holes in it. I have also tried all the mapping types and nothing seems to work. Dont know...running out of ideas and time on it. I may just have to render it in Maya and try to match the lighting from my Vue scene. Keep tossing out ideas if you have them. Thanks, Dave

Wabe, The mapping in Vue is Object Standard but in Maya I mapped the UV's and exported as a 3ds object which should have kept those mapped correctly. I will mess around some more with the mapping and see what I can turn up. Unfortunately I am not able to release the scene for viewing which I know makes it harder for anyone to help. Thanks for the mapping idea. If there is anymore ideas let me know. Dave
Thread: hi, im new to VUE , and have some question on farm rendering | Forum: Vue
I agree with this. Use rendercow only for higher quality rendering. But be careful because rendercow is very unstable. We try to use it but end up crashing out our network and all the cows on it. Very shaky network render, but back to your question. Your one dual machine of course will render faster than the laptop but when you boost the quality level of your final render you will see your slower computer will actually render a few frames for you saving sometime. Hope this helps!!
Thread: HELP!!! Flickering Render Problems | Forum: Vue
I have deleted the ground plane out. The Mts. and river valley is object mesh created in Maya and imported into Vue. I believe I have fixed this problem by deleting out the water texture and created a new water texture. My still frame renders seem to be working...so the next step is to render out a sequence. I would like to thank you for your comments and suggestions. You wouldnt happen to know why things are flickering would you or some nice settings in the render options to set for image sequence animations??? If you have some settings that you have tested and know they have nice non-flicker animations let me know so I can start playing around with the render options. Like I said I have tried several different options but still have flickering and sometimes black ghost like objects appear in my final renders. Cheers, Dave

mrsparky For issue #2 which was the black and white junk showing up. If I render out a still image it still renders with the junk. I have been playing around with this scene and started deleting items one by one out of the scene to see if it would work out. I came down to the water plane and water texture in my scene. When I deleted out the water and water texture...recreated the water and assigned the default texture it seems to render out fine now.... If this fixed the problem...I sure would like to know why it was acting so crazy with the plane I had in there. It was just a simple water plane with a nice water texture...HMMMMM Dont know. As for issue #1 the flickering rendered animations.... you are saying to try a different codec??? I am rendering the images out as a image sequence. Flickering textures in an animation I know is sometimes unavoidable but this is just to much and needs some dealing with. Thanks for your reply and I hope to hear more input on these matters. Cheers, Dave
