If a DLL has been loaded and used by a program since the last time you booted, an installer can't unload the DLL. So a reboot is needed before the new DLL is used. Until you reboot that previously loaded DLL is still loaded. I always reboot before and after doing an upgrade or install. Reboot before means the minimum of DLLs have been loaded, and reboot after to flush VM and allow new DLLs to load.

I, for one, like lots of controls. You can always group controls so the more subtle ones that not everybody wants to use are in a separate group. Or pop up in another window after hitting an "Advanced" button.

A top end Dell with dual Xeon, 2-4GB ram, dual drives, high end graphics card, CD-RW, DVD, etc... Can be $5k-$6k without monitors. (even higher with a better graphics card)

The Claire de Lune thread is still there. I posted in their support forum that he should be permanently banned from that site.
Thread: UTC for SP: for what purpose? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just compared the UVs between V3 and SP on the arms, legs, feet, hands, body, face, and head. The only differences I saw were a thin ring around the edges of the nipples moved just slightly, and the area around the eyebrows spread a small amount. The rest of match exactly. (I didn't check eyelashes, overlaid eyebrows, eyes, etc...)

Dual 1Ghz PIII's, 1GB RAM, About 20GB free on a single 60GB drive. Matrox 450 dual head. Win2k pro. Swap file set to 1.5GB min, 4GB max. Have never allowed Outlook/OE to run. Never use any form of IM, or file sharing (Kazaa type) programs. Never use IE. Don't play CDs, MP3s, video games, etc... Reboot before doing any major 3D work. I typically do 200-300 frame anims, and while it takes a long time it has not crashed since SP3 while doing it. I will often reboot after doing a long one, before doing another long one though, just to clean things out. Oh, I also regularly flush the temp folder. Scan for viruses & spyware weekly, and defrag monthly.

If it was because of the Letterman pic, then replacing it with a Poser talk show host might be OK.

The eyes need a bit of morphing. I think you need to pull the eyebrow ridges down a bit lower on the parts next to the nose.
Looks real good so far. It's getting close.

The point is it DOES work with Win98. It just works a whole lot better on a newer, larger system.
Thread: video compression software | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you have any software that can run a blur filter on the clip, it can make a huge difference. Even just a slight blur, which can be very hard to notice visually can improve the compression a fair amount.
