Have you upgraded to 10.4.1 or 10.4.2(the latest)?? Poser 6 well not work until you have at least 10.4.1 . Poser 5 works on my PowerMac in 10.4.2.
Thread: Tiger glitches | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The 10.4.1 Update is out and it seems to help Poser 6 somewhat but it(P6) is still touchy and crash prone. Looks like we are still waiting on SR1. I don't know about Poser 5 as I haven't started it yet while using Tiger. Maybe tomorrow.
Thread: Is Poser 6 Worth it!!!!!!!!!??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Repeat after me, Open GL. It may not improve the rendering speed, the the time saved not waiting for P5 to do test renders is worth the upgrade price all by it's self. WAG(Wild A** Guess) Will Poser 6 use the Shade rendering engine instead of Firefly? It make a lot of sense since Curious Labs is owned by the people who make Shade.
Thread: Dilemma: What computer to get | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You might want to wait untill Poser 6 ships and see what hardware it supports( hyperthreading, dual CPUs, etc), before making any final plans. Even if you don't plan on getting P6 right away, you probably well in the near furture judging from your software list. Personally I would stay away from RAID-0 arrays, if one drive fails you lose everything on both drives. Instead get an external harddrive (USB2 or Firewire) to use a backup. Always have a backup! The fastest machine wirh a ton of RAM and a monster harddrive will NOT be fast enoung! WHY you ask? Because Poser is just plain slow!
Thread: M3 Millenium Beard causes P5 to crash | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
I am using a Mac and had the same problem. If you load a M3 figure first then the beard , Poser doesn't crash. On a Mac. Give it a try.
Thread: WhyPoser5FireFlyRenderSOSlow??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Because it's slow!! You do need to add more RAM, as much as you can afford. All 3D software loves as much RAM as it can get. Check this site, stefan has some good tips on speeding up your rendering speed. http://www.keindesign.de/stefan/poser/renderer.html
