I use a Belkin wireless router which is possibly why I didn't get that particular problem - glad to see it might be fixed!

Woke this morning, received message from vendor who sent me links from her server and the downloads downloaded quickly - and unzipped and extracted without a hitch! No CRC Failed at all!!! This is definitely a Bondsware problem.
It's not my server, not my zip manager, not my browser. Used what I always used to download that from her and it was done instantly - I even opened Daz and used it to make sure before I said anything, EVERYTHING is as it should be.
Renderosity ... YOU have a problem. I sure hope it's fixed, because I have four things in my wishlist I'd planned to get in the next two weeks, but I won't be getting them as long as this problem exists because I just don't want the frustration.

I've just downloaded a whole batch of files that are totally corrupt, I can't view your pages without seeing half loaded images and have had some huge delays on here. I need the files urgently so can you please suggest another way I can access them asap.
**steveinuk -
** Our store staff will work with you to make sure you get the files. Please post in the Marketplace Customer Support forum as well.

**Sorry for the hassle. Now that we have an idea what's causing it, we'll definitely go back to our colo provider & have them double check related settings first thing this AM. I agree with you that something changed on our end that triggered the problem, but as you can read in the "Pitfalls" section at this link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stateful_firewall), one way to trigger this problem is simply to keep upgrading servers/routers to the latest version.
Tim
I see that MKeyes wondered,
I looked for disabling this SPI - couldn't find such a thing
Use your browser to access the router setup: type this into the browser address/location
http://192.168.0.127/
On the left side, look for "WAN Setup" clickk that link and then you should see
an option to "Disable SPI Firewall" ... click to put a check mark and click "Apply".

I also have netgear, I'll try the fix later, though I hate to meddle with things that are not broken elsewhere...
the vendor also sent me the file so I have it.
Will we need this fix or will Bondware be fixing the issue so that we are not required to change that which worked fine last week?
tried fix and it worked

Yes, we are going to continue to work on resolving. However with it being hardware compatibility issues it could take some time. It appears the problem is due to our hardware / firmware upgrades at our co-lo facility. There is also another fix for anyone not wanting to disable the SPI in the NetGear router. Just make sure your download link starts with https://market.renderosity.com. There is now a front page article about the issues so that we can make sure everyone is aware.
I just attempted to download the test file and it corrupted like the purchased files. Here is the info you asked for:
Comcast.
Cable
Vista
I've used Windows extractor and WinZip 11.2
No download manager
McAfee
See below for file size difference
Explorer
I've exceeded my downloads for my recent purchase. Any help you can give would be helpful.
Thanks,
W Field
That might be the solution but that page will not load for me. On any machine, even one NOT using the netgear router. Also, please reset my latest download so I can try it again when the page does finally load. Maybe it is getting too many people on it, thus not loading. Or I want my money back. Thanks.

Hi.
Glad to hear that the point of the problem has been located, and that you are working on fixing it.
I do have a NetGear Router, but I will not disable the routers firewall letting not only Renderosity in, but also hackers etc.
There is a reason for having firewalls.
I am looking forward to the solving of the problem.
wolfman2004,
A better alternative might be to go to NetGear's support website & download their latest code for your particular router. That appears to solve the problem without having to disable the SPI firewall feature. Our testing with their latest code showed no issues with download corruption.
If you go that route, I'd love to hear if it solved the problem for you.
tim
I see that tim felt that we should,
go to NetGear's support website & download their latest code for your particular router
I did that and found that I already had the latest firmware (V2.0.25_1.0.1NA) installed on my Netgear WGT624v3 router since about 5/1/2008. ... but that still failed to allow an accurate ZIP download.
It follows that Netgear may not be aware of this issue for my specific model and firmware change level.
I'll need to have additional information to get Netgear to work on a fix.
Please provide me with additional details about the recent changes that were made in your configuration and led to this problem ... information from your new ISP and/or co-lo techs may also be needed.
Thanks.

wolfman, the latest firmware for your NetGear router is 2.1.13 that was released about a month and a half ago. Attached is the link to the firmware upgrade.
Quote - All, we have finally been able to duplicate the problem. We brought in a NetGear router, and downloaded files did unzip properly until we updated the firmware.
Are you saying the router DID work until you updated the firmware?
Does this mean those of us who have the newest firmware on our Netgear routers just have to sit back until another firmware release? Or is this something you can fix on your side? Or am I just totally misunderstanding?
I see that JeniferC responded saying,
Martin, I'm not exactly sure what details you are wanting.
I'm not sure what I'm asking either ... but I want to submit a trouble report to Netgear with enough information that they can identify their bug ... maybe even fix it.
One possible way would be to identify which routers and firmware release levels work properly ... and which ones do not work. e.g., my Netgear WGT624v3 with firmware level V2.0.25_1.0.1NA does not work properly while (according to your message to wolfman) a Netgear WNR834b-v2 needs 2.1.13 to work correctly.
We did NOT switch ISPs
Sorry, my misunderstanding.
changed our servers IP addresses and updated firmware on our firewall to get it up to date
It is rare that such a small well-intentioned act should have had such far reaching subtle consequences.

I see that JeniferC wrote,
All, we have finally been able to duplicate the problem.
We brought in a NetGear router, and downloaded files
did unzip properly until we updated the firmware.
When she might have meant to write ...
All, we have finally been able to duplicate the problem.
We brought in a NetGear router, and downloaded files
did NOT unzip properly until we updated the firmware.

Joy in Mudville!
Hey all, after days of trying to access that http://192.168.0.127/ it JUST WILL NOT LOAD for me. Keep getting "connection interrupted". So I think after 40+ attempts I can pretty much conclude it is not going to work for me.
HOWEVER, reading through all these messages I see someone had success with "httpS" so I tried that and not a single CRC error.
My thanks to all in here who helped clarify this frustrating little issue.
I think I will bite the bullet and buy another item I want.
Larry F
I see that Larry F tried,
to access that http://192.168.0.127/
... and concluded that,
it JUST WILL NOT LOAD for me. Keep getting "connection interrupted".
That last bit suggests that you were using a wireless connection to access the router setup pages ... Right? Did you also try an RJ-45 cable?

madmachine, your order downloads were reset.
maraich, yes the zip files were not corrupt until we updated the firmware on the NetGear router. No, you do not have to wait for a firmware release.
We are still working to resolve the issue. Several tests have been being run everyday for over a week. After six different tests today, we have determined that the problem lies in the core routers owned and operated at our co-location facility. Since this involves equipment that isn't ours, it's a holiday week-end, and their highest level technician is on vacation until Monday, the changes the co-lo needs to work on are scheduled for Monday.

Please let the Renderosity community know when the changes have been
made so that we can test the downloads with SPI both enabled and disabled.
Thanks

It is easy to change the settings in your router ...
Click the link http://192.168.1.1/ (BTW, it might be a good idea to use Right-Click New Tab ... or print these instructions first [grin])
On the left side of the page, look for "Advanced" and then under that, click on "WAN Setup"
Click on the open check box to the left of "Disable SPI Firewall" and click on "Apply"
That should do it.
OK to send me a site mail for more info.

** **I have purchased, Melodee, ( http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=57868 ), a model for Vicky 4.1, and have copied the order info at the bottom for proof.
While trying to unzip the folder, I received multiple error messages, of this nature:
0x80004005 Unspecified error LKD Melodee Body JPEG
0x80004005 Unspecified error LKD Melodee BodyBUM JPEG
0x80004005 Unspecified error LKD Melodee EyesBlue JPEG
0x80004005 Unspecified error LKD Melodee MUJuicy JPEG
0x80004005 Unspecified error LKD Melodee MUpinklemonade JPEG
At this point, I stopped the unzip procedure because I didn't think it likely that the character would work with that many errors.
NOTE:
I've found the information on downloads from netgear, I have tried to disable the SPI firewall in netgear but it didn't work, possibly because the last digit of the router serial number has been scratched off and I'm unable to access information because of this. I have sent an email requesting tech support, but have only gotten the "we received your message and will get back to you" response.
I have tried using the https://renderosity... secure site download trick mentioned in the forum, but got the same messages when I tried to unzip.
I have also had problems with a purchase of RMTH Lara, which apparently had no problem unzipping, but I had to manually search for missing files when I tried to install the files (the manual search apparently solved the problem). Also Obscuria, I don't recall a download problem but when I tried a render one of her wings loaded as a skeletal wing.
SOLUTIONS???
While I'm waiting for a response from Netgear Support, is there anything else I can do? Can you attach the zipped file to an email and send it to me? Are there any discounts on Burning to CD until this is fixed?
ISP - Cox
method- cable
Netgear WGR614v6 router
Windows Vista
Unzipper - Windows explorer
no download manager
antivirus: webroot spysweeper with antivirus and norton internet security (latter subscription expired)
bondware file size 17.6 meg (for Melodee)
my file size same
Thank you.

I managed to find out my router log-in and password after two days of searching on the net, trying various defaults, searching through the documentation and finally emailing Virgin. The reply came swiftly.... "It's printed on the bottom of your router!" and umm.. it was /blush!
All sorted and now I believe the fix has been made too.
I just wanted to thank everyone on here for the help!

YES! I have a Netgear Wireless router! But we've had it for 3 years now - and no problems up to this episode in the last week or more.
If that is the problem, I looked for disabling this SPI - couldn't find such a thing - I do I go about testing it?
