"Why!?!", came a loud chorus, from the opposite end of the porch. The rose bushes were all afire!

33By knowing others, you are intelligent;
By knowing yourself, you are truly wise.
Mastering others, you are strong;
Mastering yourself, brings you truer power.
Those who know that they have enough are truly wealthy.
Those who persist will reach their goal.
Those who maintain their course have a strong will.
Those who embrace death will not perish,
but have life everlasting.
(Lao Tzu)

"O Great Spirit whose voice I hear in the winds, I come to you as one of your many children. I need your strength and your wisdom. Make me strong not to be superior to my brother, but to be able to fight my greatest enemy: "Myself"
(Chief Dan George)

As love pours,
Onto a pair,
The intensity,
Is usually one,
Toward the other.
Seldom does love flow,
With equal magnitude
From each,
On the continuum.
Seldom.
The other, may
Suddenly
Bloom,
As the two
Move along.
Patience.
Drive on,
Hold a steady
Intuitive
Course,
and....
Let it rain!

Thread: Still working on it...... | Forum: Writers
Yea L, this is a tough subject to write about and to clearly understand. Currently, I have been working on 'Style' and 'Content' in my writings. I challenged myself on this one and I am still workin' on it. I am going back to more tradition writings styles and will get back to this one later. Thanks, D.
Thread: Are lyricists writers? | Forum: Writers
In considering whether lyricists are writers, the Medium is not necessarily the Message. A story well told is a story well told. I think that this is a very, very interesting consideration and a good choice to start. This could open the door for others. Van Morrison comes to mind. As you dig into LC's music also check out 'Famous Blue Raincoat' by Jennifer Warnes. All LC songs here and covered very well by a beautiful lady. The ones that stand out are 'First We Take Manhattan', check out SRV's guitar work on this one. 'Joan of Arc', a duet with LC and 'Song of Bernadette', which she co-wrote with LC. The following year, LC released 'I'm Your Man', which is also a good one.

Yes, Robert, I understand what you are saying. Literal interpetation of the theme, as opposed to figurative or metaphorical(had to go to the dictionary on these). The choice is yours to make. Maybe a story using various combinations would be interesting. Okay, sounds like you got it together on the 'style' of what you will be writing about. Now, what about 'content'? How important are the following: clarity, sentence structure, continuity, point of view and finally, spelling and punctuation. As you can probably tell, I think that style and content are very important in good writing. What do you say? This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
