that filter only adds a texture over the image
i want the filter that modifies the picture to make the light areas of my photgraph to be fat lines, the medium areas to be thin lines and the dark areas to be left out -- like the face in my pic
;0)

thats a link to lip gloss manÂ
@ karsnikov -- the guy wants to do cartoon facesÂ
@RawRyder -- i wouldnt purchase much before you experiment -- the image you left a link to is clearly some type of vector just with some air brush texchniques added to give it some realism
the cheeks look like they have been airbrushed and there are plenty of tutorials on how to do hair -- check out the resources/tutorials area on www.deviantart.com -- IM me if you need more directions

gaussian blur and masking turns out nasty -- i'd do some tests with pen tools and vectors !!!

then the way to go is probably using paths in photoshop
you draw a path around an area of colour thats almost the same - rastorize the path into a vector shape -- then fill this with one colour - ((vector shapes can be scaled up and down without loss of quality))
repeat this witha few other areas of different colours and you will have a simple cartoon lookin face
it is quite simple -- but my original point was that loads of people and companies are already doing it so dont expect to make a living out of it so soonÂ
that okay bro???

have to say that if your planning on making a business out of doing it shouldnt you already be brilliant at it and not just starting>??
and i know of plenty of photography and printing websites that will probably do it cheaper than youÂ
what extra qualities do you have to bring to the table??
soz mateyÂ
but i have already been through a business plan with loads of these types of ideas and thats what i got told by a guy who specialises in creative business advice
Thread: Genuine Factals | Forum: Photoshop
i think Genuine Fractals is excellent quality for the price -- and i havent even used it that much neither!!!
you can crop areas and then increase the size and even convert it from 72dpi to 300+ without that much loss of quality
i have found that if you have a good photograph it will do a great jobÂ
-- if you use it on computer graphics - i.e. Â a Cinema 4D render/Terragen render it creates a sort of painted look to the image

Thread: To comment or ....not to comment ...that is the question. | Forum: Community Center
first of all hey to all in the forum personally i am a developing artist and consider criticism to be the most positive form of commenting - i will never get better with comments like ' you're doing well' and 'great clouds' Personally i always check the gallery of the person who has given the comment - if they are a professional then it may be worth listening to them or if they are only a beginner then maybe you dont chose to listen to that comment - its up to the individual
