Thread: Poser Pro 11 UPGRADE $99!! Great Sale! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Anybody using Poser 11 Pro want to confirm that it is a big improvement over Poser Pro 2012?
I don't mean features as much as stability, i.e., bugs. Does it crash? A lot?
If not, I may consider it, but have been very disappointed by upgrades before ...
Thread: Possible to install and launch Poser 5 in Windows 10? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks, WandW! I will check it out.
And thanks to RorrKonn and everyone else, too, of course.
I don't know about current versions of Blender, etc., but at the time I was using it, I got some effects in Particles that I was not able to achieve at the time with the other software I was using, at least not without a whole lot more work.
Of course, that may not be the case anymore. It's been a while since I worked or played around with anything other than Poser and ZBrush.
Thanks again everyone for your feedback.

RorrKonn, unless you know something I don't (quite likely), those effects are not at all the same.
But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Poser 5 is an actual version of Poser.
Yes. It uses Python. It is called "Particles" -- not Ron's Particles. I bought it from DAZ but as far as I can tell was never updated. I've looked at the code but even though I understand Python somewhat, I really can't hope to update it in any kind of reasonable time frame. It does not seem to even be for sale any more, not even this old version. There's another product, also, that is also a script-based product that only works for Poser 5 that I kinda like, but Particles is the one I didn't want to lose.
I installed it outside the Program Files hierarchy, but as I said, it won't launch.
I guess my only option is probably to try to install an old version of Windows and Poser 5 inside a virtual machine ... if I decide to go to the trouble.
Thanks anyway.
Thread: How Can I make Money with Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you just want to make some money with Poser, create some knock out graphics and combine that with some mad website development skills (or find a dependable, hard-working partner who already has them), put together a few sites and/or landing pages and go out on some of the freelancer sites and related industry forums and find internet marketers who are looking for folks to build them some eye-popping sales sites. The demand for flashy, attention-grabbing work is substantial and it keeps growing.
It doesn't pay that well at first, but once you establish a reputation ... well, I know of a couple out there doing this kind of thing who are making pretty decent money, i.e. $70,000+. They work very hard at it though.
Thread: pathetic win7 question, how to search within files? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
May be fast, but it doesn't search file contents.

Not pathetic at all. I've found Win7 search very undependable, i.e., quite inferior to previous versions of Windows ... just my opinion I guess ...

Thanks for the reply.
You may be right about the pins. But I'm not that familiar with the subject. The pics I've seen so far look like two cylinders though ... one thicker and one thinner. I'd fake it except that it looks like there will be a close up or two.
Guess I've got some research to do, but thanks again.

Spot on, Acadia! Unfortunately, personal attacks have become the norm, even among so-called professionals who should know better. The practice always generates lots of heat, but hardly ever any light.

I probably don't have the money to buy, or the time to learn, all of 'em right now, but I'm sure going to check 'em all out.
Thanks some more everybody!
