This is Eric from DAZ Productions. Thank you for your feedback on the hair styles. I thought it might be helpful to explain that we actually built these hair styles to a client's custom specifications in every detail. They needed the hair to be according to their designs, without transparency, and of very low resolution (for real-time web deployable characters). We didn't expect these products to have the wide appeal of styles such as Vicki's Layered Flip or Michael's Wedge Cut, but wanted to make these products available to those interested in more simple, low resolution models. And because these styles are more comparable to our standard Poser hairstyles than to the types of hair we regularly sell, they are priced at half the cost of our other hairstyles. Still, we feel they are a good product and will be valuable to many users. After all, our client was very pleased. :) I also wanted to write to explain some of our plans here at DAZ. It's a good point that these hairstyles are the first products released under the DAZ banner, and we don't want you to think that this is indicative of what's soon to come. In fact, the reason that we posted these models is because we are still working on a few other, more exciting products, but wanted to post something that was already finished and actually had a price attached to it. (Since the formation of DAZ Productions we've posted around 10 free models (not including the free hair maps and update files this weekend) and unfortunately haven't been able to add much more to our store. You may be happy to know, however, that we are nearing completion of Michael's Clothing Pak 2, and expect that to be available soon. Also, I'd like to appologize for the temporary mix up on the price of these hairstyles. They are now back to $9.95 in the online store. Thanks everyone for your comments, we're always happy to get feedback about how to improve our products. (You know what they say about 10 silent people agreeing with every vocal remark.) Mark and Artist3D, thanks for the specifics. We also got some complaints about the standard Poser man being too muscley believe it or not! We tried to create a physique between the two extremes, and judging by the responses/complaints we've received we actually think that we hit a pretty good happy medium even in retrospect. That being said, I think you have a good point here, and I'm sure that you're not alone in wanting a more muscular build. I've passed along your suggestion, and we in the Poser division now collectively feel that we would like to add a muscle bulk morph to Michael. However, since the Michael update CR2 is already behind schedule, and needs to be released very soon, I'm afraid that we won't be able to add this morph on to Michael at this time. We do plan on eventually releasing a kind of "super morph" CR2 for Michael, and will definitely want to include this morph then. Unfortunately, it will probably be a couple of months before we get to this project. I hope this isn't too disappointing. We appreciate all of your feedback. Even though we absolutely believe that there is no better quality figure available for the price of Michael, we know that there's always room to improve. (Creating this type of quality for this kind of price always involves concessions in many areas. Your comments will help us to decide what the concessions should involve on future products.) Everyone, Thank you for your suggestions. In the creation of Michael we tried to make him a "happy medium" between a bodybuilder and a normal person. It is quite impossible to go to all extreems of body types using one set of joint parameters. We needed to keep the character build within limits of clothing. Hello, This is Eric at Zygote. We are unable to duplicate this problem. We do feel that this problem is due to the version of Victoria you are using. You will recall that we released a .cr2 update of Victoria after her initial release where the actual .cr2 is named 'Vicki.cr2'. The center points in her shoulders are slightly diferent in this version. I suspect this to be the cause of your problem. Make sure your model is called Vicky instead of Victoria. Hello everyone, This is Eric at Zygote. The only way we could duplicate this "broken fingers" problem was by bringing in Victoria and loading Michael in over her. The differing joint setup in Victoria breaks his fingers. Victoria's poses used on Michael produces the same effect. You can fix this problem simply by not replacing Victoria with the Michael figure in your scene or by using the provided poses made for Michael. If Victoria is your default Poser figure you will want to delete her before bringing in Michael. Please feel free to email (tech@zygote.com) or call for this and other issues relating to our models. Hello from Zygote. Thank you for your concern and honesty regarding this situation. It is true that there are ways from within Poser to include some of the .obj data in a .cr2 file. Zygote owns the .obj copyright and in so doing, it is then illegal to distribute this data in any way, shape or form. Although it is possible to extract the data from a .cr2, there should be no need to extract .obj data from a .cr2 if you already own the .obj. It may be noted that it is a violation of copyright to distribute/sell models derived from our original geometry. We encourage your innovation and creativity. Hello eveyone, We at Zygote are familiar with these initially perceived "problems". - The feet should have visibility turned off to solve the boot issue (the boots were built this way intentionally for both aesthetic and posing reasons). -The clothing pack is made to work with the latest Vicki update, as well as the updated clothing pak and Poser4 (patched). We've corresponded with Bushi to double-check, and these conforming issues were due to not having the final (4-28) Vicki update. If anyone is having problems with the Victoria Clothing Pack 1 conforming correctly, etc. please let us know. The updates have caused some confusion, but the product works well. Regarding the price issue, We originally planned to have the regular price of Victoria at $99.95. Due to the great response from our customers we decided it might be better to offer her for $59.95, hence the credit to the store. We will introduce the male model at the regular price of $59.95.
