Thread: transparencies to digital images? | Forum: Photography
Only some days ago i got me a filmscanner on ebay. Its a Microtek Filmscan35, costs me only about 70$. No perfection in this priceclass, but its enough to go for 20x30 cm prints, depends on the slide quality/condition. Im trying to scan slides from the 1940s-1970s with it ans get really different results. Like Misha833 said: Some Software will help, im pretty satisfied with SilverFast SE, its a scanning tool.

Hi Jack! concernig the usability: i think the more pictures you will upload, the more you need to put them into different categories. to limit the number of pics per page will make it faster to load. But in the end its a matter of how you want the visitor to experience your work. what is important about it, what are your favorites? some suggestions: http://www.philipglaser.com/home.html?fm=1 (Flash) http://www.stefanmariarother.com/english/portfolio.htm http://www.jakobsen-picture-work.de/index1.html http://www.photographie.de/galerie/galerie_start.cfm and my own: www.kelox.net/kopf4 (Flash) Sascha

You scanned pictures or the film? If you scanned the film 200dpi is not enough by far. Even from picture you might need more informations (pixels) for good color corrections. or... Is your screen calibrated? (is black really black?) or... Do you let the scanner or scanner-application do any auto-corrections? If you have no professional scanner/scanner-application turn auto-corrections off. or... In PS: do the corrections for each channel (r,g,b) individually (Strg + L, then use the pull down)... or... try to correct the gradiation (strg + m) or...or...or... hope it helps a bit sascha
