Thread: Nvidia Quadro 3700FX or ATI 5750 for PoserPro 2010 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have used the Quadro 37xx in my BOXX system for a year. Works flalesslyin Poser Pro 2010 and Vue 9 and 9.5 as well as mudbox and maya 2010. I spent the money on speed and stability. my old system with twin 8800gt's ran so hot it was very unreliable on a 5 day animation job or just because it would overheat and crash. I am partial to Nvidia but I really do like this card.

I have a total of 24 cores in my main pc (2 12 core xeons) and Poser 8 and Poser Pro 2010 will run 100% cpu utilization on win7 64. What OS are you running?
I also have win7 64 bit, I don't know why you're able to to get all of the performance out of yours. The only bottleneck on my system, really, is my hard drive
I'm not sure what you are doing wrong to only get 50% utilization. I have a very fast memory and hard drive, I have seperate process set to 24, the number of cores, UAC is turned off. It will runn at 100% on all 24 cores all day. But if I wanrt to run Vue for example while rendwering, Poser will still share CPU and Cores nicely.

"pretty very lucky person, shall you make this test (banchmark poser), i'd really really really like to see how much you can perform with your high-end hardware "
18 seconds on PoserPro 2010 12 gb ram (2) 2.67ghz 12 core xeons Win 7 64, but this "benchmark" doesn't tell much it is so unchallaging, no ray tracing or indirect light etc

Quote - I've seen used dual Xeon blade servers in the $100-200 range-this would certainly be cheaper...
Really? where, that does sound like a good way to go.

Thread: Save entire scene, but just frame 30 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thread: Save entire scene, but just frame 30 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My issue is most of the many many props and furniure items were added at frame 30 so its all the "stuff" I am trying to save. So now that the room is built, the lighting is set and the models are posed I want to save frame 30 as a launching point for the project.
As for deleting frames AFTER what you want to save that is simple. Lets say you want to save frames 1-20 of 30. Just go to frame 20 and in the "frame of counter" enter 20 instead of 30. Poser will notify you you are deleting frames and you are set.

I think it's great becuase it lets me experiment with render settings and impact of additional machines in a meaningful way.
Thread: Where can I get a nice bicycle ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wow that brings back memories. In 1969 only 2 kids in my california neigborhood had real StingRays. They were the cool kids. I had a schwinn too, but it was a 10 speed, more nerdy, we all had junker bikes we "took jumps with" and such, but the StingRay Kids were the kings of the hill.

Keep in mind how movies are made, TV too. 2 to 4 second shots, then camera or some other change. Your movie can be hours long but the poser scenes can each be 2 to 4 seconds and since they should usually be rendered as frames and composted, just like real movie making, not to mention crash insurance, the shorter shots will make everything easier to manage.
Thread: Walk designer need to offset Y but can't move it | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If I start from scratch I can Tran Y after applying the walk in place . Somewhere along the way my M3 must have gotten parented to something. With the invisible prop M3s body Ytran is locked in the same way, but to the invisible apple now.

Quote - You have various options.
You can parent the treadmill and all other elements of the scene to a prop, then pull the prop dpwn untill everything matches the figure.
You can apply the Walk Cycle, then just yTran the BODY untill the figure is at the required altitude.
You can apply the Walk Cycle, then parent the figure to an invisible prop, and set the prop to the desired altitude. This is the most flexible method, and the one I recommend, you can even have the figure walking on a wall, or upside down.
Ok, not even enough time to make a pot of coffee, thanks for the quick reply.
Option 3 is a winner, works like a charm. Is there a downside?
Option 2 I tried but the Y wont translate with the dials or the control circle.
Option 1 too many items in my lunatic imagination to have to move to the "new ground level"
Thank You
Thread: Help with injection files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Many Charactors are based on Morphs++ a seperate and expensive option sold at daz. If you have it you go to your pose library and either inject the whole package or seperate morphs. Then when you load your character it still may look unaltered until you go to the dial and dial it in.
