I think  we have enough characters that look good until you get 30 degrees off the DaVinci pose. We have enough neutered non-gendered people as well. After having a chance this weekend to check out Dawn this weekend, I like are her jaw, her tongue, her toes, and to a degree her shoulder movement. Did not like the bending of the legs and lack of polys in some areas, but hey its better than I could do. I think I prefer the way V4 is cut in the hip/glute are as far as movement.
I think if you are going to go the effort with female genitals then just cater to those who need that. Design the mesh and rig around the fact that her legs will be spread, or shell be bent over. Better yet start with what people like and improve what they dont. I like V4 she works well, I have found AMAZING textures for her, and any type of clothing you could want. She is well supported. However she is no porn star, textures go funny in the crotch due to the UV mapping and a lack of polys for extreme poses. She wasnt designed for this so its expected. If you could swap out her nether regions for new geometry that would make her perfect. But then morphs dont work there, textures dont work, and DAZ wont let you share your improvements of their property. Its a lot of work to not be able to share. But then again a geometry switch would be nice, as long as it didnt retain any of the original geometry. So I guess with enough thought it could be done.
Personally Im not looking to be a merchant and for 99 percent of my renders stock figure work well. For that 1 percent I change geometry and textures to what I need. Ill gladly pay so I dont have to do all the work of modeling, rigging and texturing. Even if the sculpt is perfect, I dont think the limitations of the rigging would effectivly represent everyones needs. JCMs, magnets, or multiple rigs would probably be neccessary.
All in all Id like to see figures become open source.

I just started using reality3 on 4gb mem it's ok, kinda slow but no mem issue
Set up a "farm" with 2 others at 3gb and 2gb
Renders almost twice as fast, not quite
sounds like more of a drive issue, or controller
SSD could be used for OS, but i definately wouldn't have the swap file on it, they are limited to max writes

I agree, maybe a little around the nostrils is fine but you can go crazy and make look like she has a cold
Im not crazy abount th Bree textures dont get me wrong they are much better than I would come up with.  There is a spot on the lower right eyelid that bugs me and I get wierd stuff on the eyebrows. But for free...Im happy.

I only focused on th face lips and ears the line on the head is from a diff setting for that surface. SSS is a subtle change, only the way light reacts to the surface,  I used it in both these images, but the mats add a little more. You wont get that flashlight in your mouth effect, but with some simple changes to your existing text(depending on you image editing skills)...SSS gives a light effect to the surface but by using a mat in the translucent channel you can simulate what sss cant. Maybe blood, blood vessels, alien parasites, i dont know. I think it a neat way of being able to blend two textures. Trans channel could do tattooes. Freckles could be added to any text and could be tweaked in poser or even animated i guess. i guess this isnt new to most but hey im coming from P5.

BUT, plug your V5Bree...ss into translucent color set color to white, plug V5Bree...tl into translucent value set value to 1 do nothing else and you get something like this (depending on lighting)...

Thats kinda what I thought the numbers relate to the maps used and I figure this figure is built for DS since you need an importer to get into Poser (ironic) and the definately do nothing on my end

Yes Genesis2 the Bree textures folder has what looks to be texts with reddened areas
in 2014 there is a button to add sss it adds node to alt diff
But there are also duplicate material groups im not sure what they are for
Im at work now so I cant do much more than search forums for an answer
