More suggestions are welcome! Here is what I'd like to change about my project. The trees around the park setting are too similar to each other and I want more openess in the branch structure. To keep the trunk looking like young trees I had to distort the z axis scale more than I'd like. I haven't found any young trees anywhere. The water is too blue and looks frozen. I'd like a total makeover on that with cascading effect, and turbulence where the water hits the lower pools. BUT HOW? I don't like the hard line in the sky render. The statue texture is the bronze on with Vue. I'd also like more realistic brick paver texture with edges and the ability to map it better. Any ideas?

Would plant studio do the job? I downloaded a tall grass object which at the viewing distance would satisfy the project needs. It is in a square and is a clump of many stalks. I put a post here asking if it could be reshaped into a circle to fit into the model space allotted. Creating wheat heads from photos seems like too much detail for the scene. They will not be seen as closeups, but from 30 feet away or more. LARRY

Guitta, I need a 10 foot diameter circlular clump of wheat that will surround a farmer statue. I'm not sure how to go about it however. THank You Larry

Thread: How to install extra trees and vegetation? | Forum: Vue
For each plant there is a *.mat file, a jpg and a gif. Apparently they go with a *.vob file already in vue. I found some instructions on loading them contained in on of the zip files. I'll try it. It says "first grow a plum tree".....???? Thanks Larry

Another thought. Do your models in turbocad, cdc4 and rhino always come into Vue without a problem? What about textures? OK. I need the realistic water for this projects as well as tress, grass, wheat, and ivy.

Thank You for the repliss. I thought I had resolved the issues and began in ernest this morning. I had been unable to bring into Vue via 3ds a model with textures intact. As a workaround I split the model into pieces and imported individually. To my surprise the program resized the pieces which made re-assembly difficult. I discovered in preferences a checkbox that I could deselect so scaling would not occur. Today the program began crashing so frequently that I cannot continue. The only thing I did was reinstall the program to correct another problem with the program requesting textures I never used. That problem was resolved with the re-install. The only other difference is that the new model contains groups of objects. Model creation: pc version of sketchup VueD: Mac version OSX bridge program: Deep exploration to unify normals. Anyone, have any insight into the crashing program problem? Deadline: tomorrow mid day. Larry

I should have added that I'm running OS X on the G3.
It should have the latest drivers.
Let me ask- when working in Vue D can you see shaded faces clearly and see the vertices and move around smoothly.
My system seems very sluggsih and again its not like looking at a view like deep exploration shows.
(I have the pc demo)

Let me answer my own questions! THere is a setting to turn off center and resize automatically that fixes the first problem I had. On the mac using the control key and apple keys with the mouse lets you pan and zoom in any view.

Ok I'll try uv mapper. What about the three cascading pools- Can I make the water in Vue D Esprit? Thanks Larry

Notice the smooth textures on the sloped nd horizontal surfaces and a rough stone texture on the verticals. There will be a farmer statue in the circle with ivy around it. water will cascade down from pool to pool. I'm hoping to do this all in Vue D4 or I'll have to go buy piranesi. Still no luck with the 3ds export. larry
