I switched to daz even though i purchased poser 10. The genesis v5 combo is just too good for me to pass up. The way she bends, the way i can create any character from a 4 year old to a 400 year old ogre 10 foot ogre with the same mesh and still swap clothes, between each for my is what I’ve been waiting for the last 6 years. 

Program wise, yes I still prefer Poser. But what's the point, it's like getting a brand new sports car and putting 6 year old tires on it. You get from point a to b, but you keep getting stuck in the mud, because the tires are working against you.

On the other hand Daz studio is like a 4 year old clunker with high performance tires. For me the most important thing is the character, mesh, not the tool used to manipulate it. V5 does what i need her to do, while V4 does not. So for me the choice is an easy one.

After downloading the morph packs for genesis and playing with it for about a week. I am sold. It's everything i hoped v4 would haver been. 

Will I stop using v4 and poser. Yes.

My v4 textures work with genesis. 

my v4 hair and clothes work with genesis (with purchase of Auto-fit)

So for about $100 (morphs + auto-fit), i can do pretty much anything i could have done with V4, but better.

I prefer working wit poser, actually if you use DS4 for about a week, you pretty much get the hang of it.

I'm sure we have an NDA we signed at the office, but I doubt it means anything this late in the game with Lion being released with the next 14 days. Can't test anything, left for vacation this morning. The last thing I was able to pinpoint was that adobe air was not communicating with poser. I could drag items to Poser, but could not click the library to change a pose for example. Tried rolling back adobe Air, but no success. Not really import for me, as i'm still with snow leopard for my main machine. But smith micro should look into it. Daz will have some a full plate on it's hands with Lion's real ease, seeing that a lot of the old installers will not work in Lion, because Apple dropped support of Rosetta. Thanks for everyone's help, Will check things out on my return from vacation,

 No, but i did manage to find that on one of the threads on on IDL and VSS. I had to set the gamma to 1.3 and sss = 0

That did some to solve the problem, but that also begs the question, is there a python script that can set all these values to 0 in poser 2010?

I remember that poser 6 had an option to turn of advanced material shaders or something like that. I don't see an equivalent in poser pro,which means i have to set each node off one by one ;-(
