I didn't go to the Yen / US Dollars currency exchange page, but here are some USD prices I found: SHADE R5/E Pro $1,499 SHADE R5/E Personal $499 ...and the link.Thread: Another delay (if I read correctly) | Forum: DAZ|Studio

Here is a review for Shade. Caution: It is expensive! There is also a link to the homepage - in Japanese. Look for the English translation link. http://shade.e-frontier.co.jp/en/demo/demoinfo6.html This is the demo page.Thread: An outsider's view on poser and Vicky's breasts... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I use Poser and the DAZ meshes for fun and recreation. When I want a companion or some intellectual company, I go out and find a real person. But I digress. More polygons in the breast area. Now there's a thought. I did hear someone say "Victoria 4" - right? I mean, didn't I? Seriously though, could more polys be added to V3 as is? A sort of clone-morph, perhaps? Dials and all?

I like the drop down menus. I can get where I want without a lot of mouse clicks. I can also browse links to places I didn't even know existed. The color scheme is weird - I see an olive brown in the left-side frame - unless it's just me. A site this big and diverse is going to generate lots of typos. I have designed web pages before, and after a while of editing and re-editing the mind balks: "It's the correct spelling, the right word and the situationally proper punctuation. Let's move on please! I'm tired of this." My only complaint about computer work I've done is that it produces a clear record and I can't blame it on anyone but myself. As long as they get the prices right, I say.
Thread: Setting Dials to Zero... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks PhilC. My mistake was too little sleep and exporting first as a 3ds file. When I imported back into Poser the textures were a mess. I forgot about the obj option. Ricewind = Flying nap of the earth over rice paddies. It kicks up quite a breeze and gives the water-oxen constipation. "...I'm 18, and I don't know what I want." Discworld...? Oh, the wizard. I did a search.

I did that - but it just generated a whole bunch of little prop parts. What I did first was took a shower, then I exported an obj file. Closed Poser, relocated my textures to runtime and imported the obj into Poser again. It went looking for the textures, found them, rendered right; and I re-saved the prop. Whew! Dodged another one...
Thread: Daz Studio - Learning Curve | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have a lot of faith in Daz and their products. I'm glad I put out the $$ for V2 when I first encountered her ( it was quite an agonizing decision ) since then, having discovered the 3d world - I've been hooked. Did I say 'addicted'? The solid quality of the Daz products has me anxiously biting the bit. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for another great Daz creation so's I can play some more. I love this stuff!

I used Poser 5 for about a week then put it aside for Poser 4 again. I am just now experimenting with the cloth room - interesting possibilities there. Perhaps I'll try out the volumetric lighting capabilities as well. I simply find Poser 4 faster to work with. Those big non-resizable parameter palettes are always in the way. I think someone a while back said the Daz Studio interface resembled that of Lightwave...?

There are some free 3d software out on the net that is capable of mesh editing. Milkshake, I think, and some others; do a search. One of these will allow you to select and detach the items you want. If nothing else, select what you want, delete the rest, then save the remaining object on its own. Repeat as many times as it takes - you'll just have a lot of props. I have the fountain and so far the mesh seperates easily with very little selection editing.
Thread: Low-cut, strapless, evening gown... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Regarding the transmap: I don't have a uv template and uvmapper seems to always want to create a new obj file. Using a transmap was my first idea. That dress is perfect for what I want. Nice pic, however I need the scoop m-u-u-ch lower. Lower as in cleavage...can I say that?
