Mark,
Some excellent water concepts. I particularly liked the cube. However, all were interesting and unique. Thanks for some great demos.

Thanks Antaran,
I looked up Fenric's Utilities- I am not sure if I can handle another variable right now. I am still trying to handle the basic Carrara program. The grouping seems too have solved my problem for the moment. At least I know about the "Utiliities" for future needs.

Thanks for some good pointers. I was able to Group/export/import the figure without problems. I was happy to see the modifications I made in the clothes came through ok. I am working on some scenes that involve British Navy uniforms for Capt. Cook who discovered the Hawaiian islands in 1778.
I have two machines with a KVM switch. An old G5 that allows me to run OS 9 for my Infini D assets and a new Mac Mini with 8 gigs of ram which allows me to upgrade at last and run Carrara 8.5/Poser 2014, etc.
I have bought tutorial program from Infiinite-skills on Carrara 8.5 to bring me up to speed from Infini D. They are good but do not cover all the fine points. I am hoping that from time to time I can turn to you guys for guidance.
Thanks again for the time spent,

Netwothy,
Thanks for the advice. I'll use the group technique which you describe. I have used Infini D for many years and I am just now making the transitioin to Carrara. Working with figures in the scene I am finding is quite a challenge. Thanks again Networthy for you help.
I have another another question but I will start a new thread so that it can be on file.

moriado,
Thanks again for getting back to me. I have printed out your instructions and will be using them to guide me. They are far more pertinent than what I have found in the manual. And, I appreciate the time it took to do it.
At least this is something solid that makes sense and I can get back to learning the program.
Thanks again for your help,

I am embarassed. I don't know how I overlooked your post. I must have scrolled down too fast. You were right. It is not much consolation, but I paid the price for not noticing by having those extra hours of turmoil.
I have been able to load the morphs for the whole body which is nice. However the reason I wanted them in the first place was so that I could move the lips for speech. Do I load the open lips morph and play with it on the parameter dial, or do I load all the lip morphs so as to give a range ? Same for the eyes..how many do you load ?
Thanks again nborre

Moriador,
Your right ! Your right! Fantastic...they are there. Beautiful... Hours and hours of befuddled groping and they were there all the time. Suddenly the nightmare of another protracted foggy search is gone.
Do I just click on the ones i want to install on the figure ? i think I was warned not to install too many all of them.
You have really made my day..
And thanks to all you wonderful responders... What a great web site.

Thanks everybody,
WanW has got it right. I have two copies of Michael 4 on my hard drive. Its a mess. What to do now ?
When I made a Folder a couple of days a go and placed in a new copy from my download assets, I never removed the old copy, nor was I sure how to as files can have long extension roots going everywhere. What should I do ?
This is the situation;
Copy A is in My DAZ 3D Library>Runtime>libraries>!DAZ Some of it is in the same library under pose, character, materials, and Support.
Copy B is under Shared >Documents>Michael 4
1.Remove all M4 files that I can find in Copy A.
2.Remove copy B
Thanks for any advice.

I am beginning to think I have missed an essential step along the way. I have followed everybodies instructions but the morphs do not load into the Content Library. Here is what I have done and tried.
I opened Michael4/Body in the top left corner of preview window.
I clicked open INJ Morphs ++ M4 png and also (because I was not sure I had selected the right one) INJ Morphs ++ M4.pz2 Not much happens except a larger version of the icon image is displayed on the desktop. (I also tried opening the other body morphs - they opened on the desktop but no effect in the Content Libray)
3.Went to the Content Window Library in Poser but there were no icons displayed similar to the images which you have shown me. I refreshed the Michael 4 folder but still no icons.. I went to the top right hand corner icon in the Content Libray window to reload the folder. It told me that the folder had already been installed.
I am beginning to get a glimmer of how the mechanism is supposed to work. All the parts seem to be there so why no icons ?
Again thanks for your tolerance of a befuddled beginner

JimTS,
I should have mentioned this first - I am using a mac, OS 10.9
I am having a little difficulty understanding you. Are you saying:
2.In the folder I created for Michael 4, I should now navigate to the Pose Library and then to the M4 folder which contains the morph injections. OK I have found them
I "inject" these morphs. How do I do this ?
I "save this back as another Michael in the figure/character library." I really don't understand this. What is it that I am saving and how ?
Thanks for your patience - I am a little slow but I get there eventually.

I made a folder and copied in the files as you suggested. See attachement. I searched for the bat file - I have no idea what that is. I did find three files under !DAZ
DzCreateExPFiles
DzCreateExPFiles-M4.command
DzCreateExPFiles-M4Gens.command
I clicked on all of them in turn. They opened up a page of code, but that was all.
Hoping that somehow this might work, I opened poser and clicked the add library folder on the top right. I navigated to the runtime folder and clicked on it. I was then told that the runtime has already been added. When I load Michael 4 there are none of the parameter dials for the morphs.
I feel I am really working blind with lilttle idea of what I am doing. Any pointers would be appreciated.
Thanks for getting back to me

Thread: How to load M4 Morphs | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Thanks everybody for the help,
I am trying to get a handle on runtime and the file system. Until I can ask more pertinent questions, I won't take up your time. I suppose you have all put you time in trying to get a handle on this problem - it is time I did the same.
Thanks again,

Vilters,
Absolutely incredible. It works, it works, it works. Thank you for the help - I was lost in the wilderness.
By switching back an forth from the Subtract to the Add buttons I was abke to fine tune the weight map... Before I was only erasing to the light yellow. This feature is well worth the upgrade.
Again thanks for yur time and patience.
