I'd put a serious amount of cash on the fact this is a unique problem, so I thought I'd post these tests here so that everyone can stand in awe of the cutting edge humour. Perhaps my paying the going rate is not good enough when I have potentially so much more to offer. Here it is then, the comedic genius of the Firefly balooning objects.........

Polygon smoothing is turned off in the render settings. You can also turn off polygon smoothing for individual objects as well (In the object properties). This did not work in the first release of Poser 5, but hopefully they have fixed it with the service packs. (Haven't tested it myself)

Do you have a displacement map? That could couse it. Tony

Sorry, it's a known "feature" and I've seen much worse than a wall inhale and suck up a few objects. ;-) It's the polygon smoothing effect. I always disable it as it screws up a lot of objects. I'm impressed that it didn't do more damage in your scene. Cheers!

Yes, Kelderek, it's been fixed in the latest service releases. I usually leave it disabled also. But I'll admit that it does a good job of smoothing out those old, low-poly, angular figures. Try it on the sphere prop; you can really see the difference.
