THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: I just can't make a screenshot :(((

Hi all. This a stupid question, but I'm banging my head on the desk about this. I wanted to make a screenshot of the wireframe for a friend. I did it in the past, but today I just can't remember... no way. I printscreen, then load the image from the clipboard in my 2d editor and... all I get is one of the control palettes (the last one I clicked). Tried to click on the render window, nothing happens. Could someone help me to remember how I did it that one single time? :) And... what if I want to have a screenshot of the rendered/wireframe together? Just using the lil' box on the rightmost controls and then "export image" doesn't work... Thanx in advance. Stefano

I think as long as the program your catching the image from is open, you can use ALT-PrintScreen. I would load it into Photoshop or any other graphics program along with the rendered copy (a .bmp file in the same folder the Bryce file is saved). I'm not sure what the problem is.

Simple printscreen should work. Try pressing PrtSc several times. BTW, Alt-PrtSc is for taking the screenshot of the active window, without the Windows' menu bar at the bottom. And apparently is very hard to get to work in Bryce.

Thanx a lot! Erlik, you are right. You have to press only PrtSc, and not ALT-PrtSc as I was doing. Also thanx Andini for your interest! :)

Make sure the blank window you are pasting into is the same exact size of your desktop resolution, meaning I keep mine at 1024x768, so when I paste a screenshot into Photoshop, my new document needs to be 1024x768. I only remember that little MS Paint program would ask if if I wanted to resize to fit the the paste, others don't. Maybe that will help. AS

if you are using photoshop, when you hit printscreen, photoshop will automatically remember that resolution so when you click file new, it will have the rez saved so all you have to do is paste the image into the new window...hope that made some sense

Go to this link and get the free little utility called "Capture". It is a real easy to use screen capture utility that will let you capture your desktop OR the active window at whatever resolution your monitor uses. Hope this helps! TMG

this is one area where PaintShopPro has a small advantage over Photoshop. In PSP, you just have to press Ctrl-V and the image automagically appears in a new file window. In Photoshop, it's as Innovator says.

PSP also has a handy-dandy screen capture tool built in. You can even change the settings and all (ie: partial screen capture, etc.) I used it a lot when making my Wings3D tutorials. It should be right up there in the menu bar.
