My neighbor wanted some torso shots done for her to hang in her house. I shot these in color and changed them to B&W in PS. B&W is new to me but I really like the affect. I was hoping some of you could give your opinions on these. Thanks! Magick Michael

This is more what she was looking for I think.

This is more what I liked. Again, thanks for your input!

If my torso still looked like that, I'd want to show it off, too! All three are great photo's. I favor #2 & #3, though. I'm much too new to all of this to give you any pointers...not sure you need any though :)

Levels seem to be a little off on all 3(at least on my screen) making them a little flat. I'd probably adjust both black and white, but I think the worst off might actually be the white point (that's just from looking). I like the 3rd one. The lines are very good...very feminine. The 2nd one doesn't seem to flow as well, shape-wise. I think the top one would be really interesting if she didn't have the tee shirt on. -=>Donald

I like the first one. (Funny shirt, too! hehehe) The pose is coy but the shirt seems to negate that. :-) The second is okay, but I think this looks like an underwear advert or summink. (Nothing wrong with that. I guess I've just seen one undie ad too many hehehehe...) The third one is kewl, too. (*

Nice job, MM. [Is there any more real estate available on your street?] You also did a very nice job painting on those jeans in #2. I do like the B&W. It may be instructive for all of us to see the color also. Since you are making prints, (inkjet?), the important thing will be how these come out. May need different adjustments for the screen vs. paper.

Yeah nice job! I wouldn't know where to start if the girl nextdoor would ask that :) Maybe it could use a liiiiiitle more contrast, but that might be the way I've setup my own screen. (Like a bit brighter highlights). But I couldn't have done it any better!

I don't know what she was looking for. The second one to me is fine. Since this was shot in B/W AND she wanted prints I am assuming you used film. If so...and I have no idea how good you are. You might want to increase the contrast a bit more. If this is digital. Well you can doo all sorts of things! Since the second photo was my favorite. ( Personally I like underwear adds. ) I think you could clone out the white pocket of the pants to make things look more interesting and/or les distracting. I probably would clone out the pattern on the undies too. But that is me regarding the pattern. The first I think I would crop a bit more off. The thired I think you cropped too much. BUT you know me and cropping. I don't like to eliminate body parts! But the second one really is cool. Bsteph

Number 3 is the best, imo. Number 1 is cool, but no.2 - well, I thought the pocket looked like she had white boxer shorts on under her nicks, the way if follows her pantyline like that..... Nice neighbour. Wish mine were that forthcoming ;) (",)

#3 is the best imho..... then 2 & 1 in that order.

I need nicer neighbors. I like all three but #3 is a bit too cropped on the bottom. The curve of the butt looks chopped off. I like 2 the best, it is a good torso shot.

GoatBoy ( ) posted Mon, 05 May 2003 at 1:15 PM

ok ya the pocket is distracting and the third should have bee cropped a bit lower. and, i think it would be a cool twist to copy the belly button off of 2 and paste it between the shirt and pants of 1, just for a strange twist... maybe i'm messed up but that would really trick the eyes... heh ARTskyd

Sorry folks I removed the images that were altered as this was a serious request for feedback. There's always a time for fun, just not in this thread. :~)
