Sounds to me like it's the question of shadow maps. If they're too small, light will leak thru gaps, in this case probably between the table and the wall.

Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Is there anything intersecting with the table - sometimes you get a bright spot on the forehead with hair/hats and it turns out that the head mesh is passing through the hair or hat mesh, using a magnet to suck the head in a bit clears the light (I suppose that could still be the shadow map, but the edge of the headcovering is still close to the surface of the head).
