Subject: Odd Joint Set-up Problem: Help!!

I've got a really odd problem with a joint set up_ I've never had before. The joint in question is a fairly complicated join between two sections of an organic model. I've had to use spherical falloff zones in the x/y and z rotations. 'bend' is checked in both body parts. I've basically copy/pasted the parameters for the inner and outer MAT spheres so that the setup of these is the same for x/y/z rotation (so facets included/excluded should be the same) The Y & Z rotations work fine and the joint bends smoothly as expected. However on applying X rotation the seam comes apart as tho not welded (although it obviously is for the other two parameters). Ive tried all sorts of variations and adjustments to the fall-off zones without success. Has anyone ever experienced this? Is there a solution or will I need to rebuild the bone structure from scratch again? Thanks in anticipation Nigel

I've had the problem with curve dials. If you have curve dials try setting them to 0 and seeing if it works better.

Hiya Dodger. I'll certainly have a look at that but I'm pretty certain it won't be that as I didn't include those_ but my Poser has been acting a bit flakey recently so it may have snuck them in without me being aware. I'll reset the joint rot order and see what that does. Nigel

Nop it wasn't that Dodger! Rather than fiddling about any longer I decided to scrap the pre-existing bones and build a new set_ no problem whatsoever.. so I conclude this was a glitch (small malevolent beastie that lives under one of the camera buttons on the Poser interface, and comes out occasionally with a large silver spanner..and chucks it in to the works....its rumoured that owing to the larger number of 'rooms' in the Poser5 interface a large extended family was able to move in prior to the release of this product.)

That would explain it. Having P 4.0.3 I have no bones. I'm all rubbery and snail-like instead.

You are an invertebrate Poser user?

mmmyeees.

That joke hardly works these days. No-one can even spell "Inveterate," much less know what it means.

Worked for me!! LoL!Dodger an obstinate a-skeletal? or even habitually spineless?

Nope, just rubbery. We boneless people prefer the term 'cartilaginous.' BTW, I know what 'inveterate' means, I just didn't know that's what you were punning. But, in fact, I am quite the veterinarian B^) Mollusc rights!
