THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: mloates, tjohn, ocddoug, danamo and myself...look out!

Rayraz ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 2:54 PM

"acddoug - Doug Martin - he claims to be an "Acute Compulsive Disorder" person - obviously not enough medication! " I've still not seen any link between ocd and this topic. And I've also not seen any apologies towards ocddoug. Ocddoug has never mentioned Stormi or Stormi's work. Not directly and not indirectly. Furthermore ocddoug has made clear several times that he is NOT ATTACKING ANYONE PERSONALLy and that he never mentioned stealing or other things like that. He was only questioning the artistic value of a blank image. He even made sure not to question the artistic abilities of the artist who made that specific image any artist here at 'rosity or elsewhere for that matter. I think an apology is the least thing that can be done. Not only is this whole thing on stormi's site childish and misplaced it's also against the law and I or anyone else for that matter could take legal steps.

ocddoug made the Sybil comment in post 14. Who's Ryan?

electroglyph ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 3:02 PM

Ryan is Broodingmaniac

Ah, I get it. Rayraz said that reflective spheres over water have no artistic merit and broodingmaniac happens to have an image in his gallery with reflective spheres over water. I guess Rayraz is taking potshots at me too then. :-(

broodingmaniac ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 3:17 PM

I'm Ryan. Some can sure dish it out, but they can't take it when it comes back to them. I agree with xminus (Evan). Just remember ocddoug was one of those who started all of this. You can't expect to start flinging mud (or in this case, accusations) at someone and not expect some back.

Rayraz ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 3:21 PM

Lol. didn't even know Brooding had a sphere-over water image. Notice how I didn't put 'maniac' after brooding to avoid making a 'personal attack'.

MadDog31 ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 3:49 PM

This is just getting down right funny now. MD

janart ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 4:09 PM

I'm glad you feel that way...laughter is good for all of us. Oh, and Ryan is proud of the "maniac" part - so never fear. He's a funny guy. All you have to do is stop the personal attacks here, and I'm sure things will calm down into the previous R'Osity state.

antevark ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 4:14 PM

Nobody is making any personal attacks! From reading the post that started all of this, I think everyone was being very reasonable until Stormi exploded. I still can't figure out what set her off.

Incarnadine ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 4:25 PM

In answer to electroglyph and tjohn (and any others concerned) I have never asked anyone to vote for one of my images. I didn't even realize it was possible! (learn something every day!) BTW, thank you, I am flattered.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

MadDog31 ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 4:33 PM

Janart, it would be great for Renderosity to return to that state, but I have to agree with antevark, I really don't see how it got started other than at that time point. MD

mloates ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 5:00 PM

Wow, this has gone way to far! All because of a comment about nothing at all (literally--that's what DC's image was: nothing, a blank black rectangle). Which, Stefano, I still like! Let's just move on.

this is what I think..... I think that this is getting a little crazed here on both sides. If Stormi (and others)can't handle our discussions here in the Bryce forum, then so be it. Nobody here is forcing them to stick around. I hate to make that kind of a statement but lets all face it,,,, there isn't a light at the end of the tunnel for this discussion, and I can;t think of any way to calm down anybodies nerves. As far as those remarks made about certain people (and this entire community) by Stormi on her site..... as much as I (and others) may object, there is really nothing that can be done about them, except legal action. And if you are going to do that, then do it. What I'm suggesting here, is that we all just take a few deep breaths, just forget about anything said, except whatever progress we made in our hot20 discussion, and get on with things. Anybody else agree???? peace, brholte (Benjamin Ross Holte)

catlin_mc ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 5:08 PM

I read the other thread and I did not see any reference to this Stormi anywhere. The only thing that comes to mind about why she attacked the people who wrote in that thread was because they made reference to cheating by a member, (unnamed), and she decided it was she who was being talked about. If that is the case it's a bit like she took it to heart because she knew it to be true, not because she was named directly. If my asumption is wrong then I appologise but this sort of flaming is in very bad taste. As for what she wrote about occdougs state of health, that is an attrocious thing to say about anyone and as far as medication is concerned perhaps she should see a doctor herself and get some Prozac to chill her out a bit. I love this forum and the people in it and if someone can't get on with the majority then they can go back from whence they came as far as I'm concerned. This sort of thing just makes me damned angry. Catlin

mloates ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 5:12 PM

Benjamin, I agree. Life is too short, and I've got Brycing to do... Regards, Michael

ocddoug ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 5:21 PM

I was the one who mentioned "sybil," after I saw the below-the-belt comment about me and OCD (or ACD, whatever the hell that is) and medication. It's a bit sad when someone admits something personal like a mental disorder, and it is used against him in an argument that has nothing to do with it. Anyway, I've about had enough of this silly shit, and so I agree with brholte. I'm going back to my world of Bryce ;-) Doug

Hi I've just read the other thread and well it seemed a reasonable discussion then wam! sound like someone was just having a bad day, you know the one where every little thing seems to get to you. I had a similar thing last year with my boss I lost my 'rag' at somethings she said about me she took me into the office we agreed about something agreed to differ on others now we get along fine. as to the web site I have not seen it yet as the 'flash' stuff was taking too long to load over my connection (very good but not on dial up 56k ish) I also agreethat DC's pic was probably voted for because amongst other things the Irony or sardonic humor 'tickled' a few people I know it does me! Heck He might even win the turner prize for it and in my opinion if he did he would be far more worthy given his other images than the 'clowns' (again my opinion) who have won it in the past I would not call any of it ART sorry . anyway have fun adn the best way to deal with destructive or unhelpful critisim is sahke your head and laugh, don't decend to the level of name calling. Dave

Swade ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 5:43 PM

LOL.... As I remember that thread starting out, the only one whose name came up and whose image was targeted was Doublecrash's WMD pic.... What in the hell is this Stormi talking about??????? No posts were deleted. I read through them all that I read through the other day and they all are still there. I didn't see her name or names of her art posted in that thread. So what in the hell is she talking and whining and complaining about. I think that she needs to take some anti-depressents and come out of her poor me, people are picking on me mode. Wasn't anyone here that said anything about her or her art in that thread. Poor Stormi. Too bad she thinks the world is out to get her. sigh Quite childish if I must say so. But I must say I feel honored to be in the company of the fabulous four though... lol 8)

I wasn't delirious at all when I said "thanks to all for the serious discussion that went on in the other thread while I was out." Being interested personally in that thread, I've read it carefully a couple of times, from top to bottom. And the only (nick)name named was mine, there were no insults in it, the discussion was fair, and everybody has interesting points worth further treatment. For what I remember (and I remember well), nobody attacked nor me nor Stormi personally. I IMed Stormi today asking her to change her opinion and come back to Rosity, but frankly I still had not seen the really bad comment about Doug on her website. As my friend Drac would say, "this sucks donkey gonads." I'm with Benjamin on this: maybe we all should take a couple of de-ep aaaah-breeee-aths and go back Brycing some. To help the Forum find again its tranquility, I decided to gave you another 1-second masterwork (you can see it above... and this time is INDEED to make you smile :)). Stefano

catlin_mc ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 6:10 PM

"Think Pink!"...try and stop me!.. ------- Not only is it odd that a complete newbi has a mediocre work in the hot20 but they are being championed by a cross fertilized group of other newbies who relentlessly bang on about fictitious slanders made against the reputedly Professional Artist, in spite ( at last the expression fits! ) of the evidence. There were plenty of friendly overtures made in the previous thread to placate the offended one, however!, it seems that the Stormi-Troopers must assassinate members of this forum in order to appease Her that will not be placated. The mealy mouthed high dudgeon being thrown at the four accused culprits sounds like a symptom of the guilty consciences shared by a clack caught in the act of excessive fawning amongst themselves and in a witless conspiracy to uplift an image beyond its merit.....there again! I might be wrong?... RUN! for the hills....the newbies are revolting!....

hugs* I need them after this! OT- today is my 19th wedding anniversary, didn't hear a word from my husband, I'm guessing he spent the day trying to keep his nervous girlfriend happy. Ain't life wonderful. Anyways, life goes on and I'm whipped after working 13 hrs. I want hugs (going back now to look at the pretty pink pic). :-D As a side note, I had a funny revelation because of all this. I'd always worried about missing my stuff if it somehow made it into the top 20, ROLFMAO I realized that I never check the box that allows people to vote for me, I even once forgot to allow comments, boy was that a bummer. Peace people and yes we are a bit of a family here but we are always welcoming newcomers in. So I just want to say to any lurkers come on in, introduce yourself, and become a part of our happy family. We really do like each other.

Flak ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 9:11 PM

I first came across the word on some RPG newsgroups (I think....), and didn't like the way it was used as almost a put down, so thats why i just don't like it. But thats just my experience... not saying thats how it's always used.

Lol.... I love the "Pink" image DC.... I am in full agreement with you EYECON. I am back to Brycin' and much happier for it. Stormi: I will reiterate what EYECON said... MAddog, Ocddoug, Tjohn Danamo and Mloates are harmless people. They would never intentionally make statements that would be hurtful to anyone. I am sorry that there was something said that you felt was directed at you, but I assure you that these guys didn't and wouldn't do something hurtful like that. I have been in a couple of other forums as well and there are some pretty harsh replies sometimes. The peeps here in the Bryce forum are some of the friendliest you will find. They are all a bunch of good people that are willing and wanting to help others understand how to use and push Bryce to its limits and to share new techniques they have discovered. Hope you won't let a little misunderstanding keep you away. However, it is your choice. I just know that these guys wouldn't purposely make hurtful remarks to you or anyone else. They are great guys; once you got to know them you would say the same thing. For what it's worth. 8) ~ Swade ~
