Subject: I want to get rid of my enormous bum

AlteredKitty ( ) posted Mon, 15 September 2003 at 8:17 PM · edited Wed, 08 January 2025 at 5:39 PM

...files.

Just got P5 & am double-checking that it's ok to delete these monsters (.bum files only, not the corresponding jpgs etc.)
Can I also get rid of either the thumbnail .rsr's or .png's ???

I'm pretty new to Poser & couldn't find the answer in the manual.

Thanks in advance for helping with my hard drive's weight-reduction program :)

If you are not going to use Poser 4 anymore then you can delete the .bum as well as the thumbnail rsr files after Poser 5 makes the pngs. However, you will need to edit any mat pose files that you used in Poser 4 and replace .bum with .jpg if you plan to use them in Poser 5 or you will get the dreaded file not found.

Why not simply run Correct Reference? It'll change all the references from bum to jpg. I don't think it'll change the actual bum files to jpg's though. And those bum files with no corresponding jpg are of course NOT to be deleted. Ockham, perhaps a similar script as the one you made to check for png/rsr's?

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
