I have to say that it is coming along quite nicely. Alice looks great. I just have one little thing about her clothes that you worked so hard on.....they look a little like clay. It could be smoothed just a little. Other than that, I love it! 6 hours for the dress.....very commendable and it does look good. :)

Looks great from here. Perhaps the sky could use some work...?

Yep, the caterpillar IS blue, Lewis Carroll said so, get used to it, LOL. He's not going to stay warty, though. I actually used the preset texture called "Hooka Smoking Caterpillar" then changed the color- it was sort of a private joke. All the textures so far are temporary, once I get all the models in, I'm planning on spending a lot of time tweaking textures. As far as smoothing the clothes: they were smoother-looking at one point. The dress looked like a bell, very flat. Very unnatural. I went back into Wings at that point and randomized the points so that it resembled cloth more, and then smoothed it. Which made a very large number of polys, but the result imported well into Bryce and renders OK in terms of how much render time is needed. Please believe me if I were to smooth it more in Wings, it would be too many polys (Wings was already slowing down to a crawl). I have already smoothed the clothes once inside Bryce, as well. Translation: the clothes are as good as they're going to get, I'm not willing to spend any more time remodelling. 6 hours is a lot of time. And they look very good to me. :^) Sorry, but I don't see the "clay" thing at all. Now the clothing that came with Poser4, THAT looks like clay to me. :^) Bryster, the sky is plain because I'll be adding smoke later, and I think any clouds might interfere with that visually. I may change my mind once the smoke is in place. Thanks to all for the feedback! John

looking cool, as someone who has just recently finished working on a stage production of alice and had got quite fed up with the theme, this has still interested me, i love the look.

I love your Alice stuff. Nicely done. I think the comment on clothes looking "clay'like" comes from the fact that you randomized. That's probably what created the bumpy "feel". Having messed in Wings quite a lot I wonder what it would look like, granted probably too late, if you would have selected alternating edges and moved "normal" to create an almost pleated look. Not really necessary though, excellent modelling job...really well done piece so far.
