Do you know any good school stuff for Poser? (Or 3DS, DXF, etc.) School desk, book, notebook, briefcase, etc.

Try 3D Cafe (link above) for the book, notebook and briefcase. Also pencils and pens. Not sure about the school desk, though. :) Varian -- Poser Playtime http://www.varian.net/dreamview/dreamtools/poser/

Thanks for the pointer to 3D Cafe. I had browsed a bit there before, but never tried their useful "search" feature. Lots of books there, in 3DS (which I know how to get into Poser 4 on my Mac) and WRL (which I haven't done, but should be able to, I'll try tonight). No notebook found by "search". Three briefcases found, one in 3DS (OK); but the others in PRJ and COB formats, and I do not know how to get them into Poser 4 on my Mac. Any suggestions appreciated.

3DS should work out well. You can try converting PRJ, COB or other using a converting program like Crossroads, 3DWin, or 3D Explorer. PRJ and COB in particular are a bit weird about converting, though, so you'd probably have an easier time just continuing to search for 3DS, OBJ or DXF. Have you checked through the Free Stuff here at Renderosity? There are at least a couple books (open and closed), and I think there's a briefcase, too. Other good places to check for models: Greylight: http://www.greylight.com/poser.html Poseable: http://skyscraper.fortunecity.com/tyrell/769/poser.html FunkyBob: http://funkybob.virtualave.net/ 3D ModelWorld: http://3dmodelworld.com/default.asp Amazing: http://www.amazing3d.com/free/free.html Baument: http://www.stewstras.net/baument/downloads.htm Klicker: http://www2.dm.fh-hannover.de/~klicker/mod.htm Trimax: http://members.xoom.com/Trimax/ Arkon: http://www.personal-connections.com/arkon/models/freemodels/index.html Avalon: http://avalon1.viewpoint.com/cgi-bin/setmirror.pl whew Well, those links will give you a good start, and you'll find more links along the way from there. Good luck! :)

Thanks for the great links. Some I knew about, but not others! >> You can try converting PRJ, COB or other using a >> converting program like Crossroads, 3DWin, or 3D Explorer. I'd love to. But aren't these all Windows (non Mac) programs? >> Have you checked through the Free Stuff here at >> Renderosity? Yes, I did that before asking. "Search" found a Gothic book, but no notebook and no briefcase (and no student desk).

I think I remember a notebook/binder at Klicker's site (linked above). Arkon has several nice tables and desks; not sure if any would be suited as a school desk...been awhile since I've visited there. Sorry for my PC-slant. Yes, those converters are Windows. I'm afraid I don't know any offhand for Mac, but you can ask in the 3D Applications forum here and get a more informed response. :)

[oops - bungled the HTML. Here we go again...] It's easy to overlook stuff at 3DCafe so thought I'd make sure you had seen this college type classroom desk (described as "Folding chair w/writing table")

I also believe that MAZ once posted a set of school props that included some textbooks, a desk and a cane. But I don't recall if it was here, there, or the other place. [ya know - I'm not really keen on the new "DELETED" flags announcing to everyone how many tries it takes this poor dufus to get a message posted properly) :{

"Folding Chair with writing table" looks like what i want. Maybe I can even take the writing table from this and stick it on one of the myriad wooden chairs available. "Zig3D" seems to have office desks and computer desks but not student school desks. They say Windows only, but since their models are just PP2 and RSR, they should easily be used on Macs by converting with Maconverter. I tried converting WRLs, using this method: Import into Strata 3D, then export as 3DS. It worked for one of the three I tried. Oh, well.
