Hi ernyoka1, I didn't notice the post that suggested the stuff sold here being crap. But I am also offended by that idea. I'm not a merchant and will never be a merchant, but I believe that the overwhelming percentage of items sold are very high quality and the result of many hours and days of hard work by those creating them. At least, that has been my experience and observation. I don't understand why people feel they have to say such hurtful statements at those. jen

The programmers are working to try to restore them. It takes a really long time to restore the db tables, go through to find just the ones that were deleted and then do the same for the thumbnails and full size images. Restoring stuff from backups of a VERY large database is not fast or easy, but it is being worked on. It's not the "contest" part of the title. It's was the fact of actual contest in the galleries.
Â
Ive read in numerous posts something to the effect"I dont want to hurt the merchants." Or "The merchants arent involved in this." Well I hate to burst everyones bubblebut it is because of the merchants that this place exists, they are the lifeblood of Renderosity and as long as the merchants continue to stand by and allow this to happen it "will" continue to happen.
Youve all seen it in televisionwhen the advertisers start pulling outthings changeor the show goes away. Advertisers start putting their support behind some other show.
But the only way for the viewer to put pressure on the advertiser is to stop buying their product.
Advertiser = Merchant
Viewer = Member
Merchantsyou need to take a look at what is going on here. By remaining you are essentially saying that you approve of the whole situation and everything should continue as isregardless of how it effects your consumers. There are many other sites (most with a better cut for the merchant) and although you might not get as many hits to begin withif your models are goodpeople will follow and word will spread.
Membersby continuing to support the merchants you are just as guilty of preventing change. The only way to initiate a change is to act.
NOTE TO MERCHANTS
I am in no way shape or form trying to put down or degrade your outstanding work. Im just trying to point out that "YOU" as a small group of merchants have much more power over this site than all the members put togetherbut in the end its the members that hold the power over you.
I PERSONALLY AM NOT PART OF THAT, JENYK, AS I STATED IN MY POST. I WOULD ONLY HOPE THAT RESTORATION OF THESE NICE PEOPLES RENDERS WOULD SATISFY THEMM KEEP THEM AT RENDEROSITY, AND ALLOW REGULAR VEIWERS LIKE ME TO BENEFIT FROM THEIR TALENTS. I DIG THIS WEBSITE ALOT. ALL THIS TALK OF BOYC0TT AND LEAVING AND ETC. ITS DISTRESSING TO A REGULAR RENDEROSITY VEIWER, NOT A MAKER OF IMAGES, OR A BUYER OF SOFTWARE. JUST A REGULAR WEB SURFER WHO STUMBLE ACROSS A GREAT COMMUNITY. AS FAR AS CONTESTS AND RULES, I AM NOT HEP ON. I AM NOT CONCERNED, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
JENYK. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW HARD IT WILL BE TO PUT THESE IMAGES BACK ON 'OSITY. I HOPE YOUR TECHS CAN ACCOMPLISH THIS.
YOU ARTISTS...KEEP ON POSTING. PLEASE.
RUSSELL
Hi ernyoka1, I didn't notice the post that suggested the stuff sold here being crap.
The only post that I saw suggested that because of continual problems here, more and more producers of high-quality items are leaving, and will eventually lead to the situation that the only things that will remain are flood-filled textures and poor poses.
I truly have to agree with that sentiment.

I'll keep posting, but I'll not buy here again. Most of the merchants here that I buy from sell other places and I'll buy from there. I'm not trying to hurt the merchants, but lets face it, the'll listen when the money starts walking. JenyK admitted that she made a mistake and I accept that but some of her comments she has made suggest fundemental problems with a lack of consitancey and customer service on this site. Things are not being handled well and while I am glad they are working on putting the missing images back up, it still does not negate tha annoyance of being treated with the disrespect that we obviously been treated. This kind of off hand deciding without input from the members is alienating people. I am voting with my pocketbook and if you want me to bring my money back, start showing me that this really is a fluke and that things are being handled better.-Kirsten
"BUt I am wondering why the contests are now limited to no nudity? I understand the no violence" The contest rules are created per each contest. Some contest sponsors prefer no violence, or nudity; others do not care or support them. Our contests do allow nudity or violence provided the images do not violate the TOS.

tempers flay, attitudes stink, give the poor girl a break now she said sorry! i will not be boycotting the market place, i will not be boycotting posting images, and those who want to leave, well let em! i accept appology, and if you cant get my stuff back up, i will repost them!!! thank you jeny!

Well my post expressing the need for a boycot (black background with white text, no cursing) was deemed against the TOS and was removed. I was warned and a mark was placed on my record. I asked that not bother with warnings and remove my account from membership. I assume that this will be my last post. Prog, Mutedbanshee, and other contest people, you are too good for this place. If you find another good venue please drop me a message or IM my wife rifterchick. Because of my decision to leave and stop buying, she wont be buying anything either, but she will continue to post images.

Everyone loves contests, it brings people together! It also gives people a chance to improve their abilities, and try new things. How can this be bad? Contests shouldn't be hard to set up..It's for fun right? Have I mentioned 3dCommune loves contests? Have you checked out the big ones going on now? with awesome prizes too! It's a win/win situation ;) JenCOver 300 posts!
I personally seldom get myself involved in these threads, but I felt responsible because I suggested a couple of members to hold a contest a few weeks back. I felt bad they received a warning on their records. I've since sent them each a pm apologizing for this fiasco.
I am glad Jeny apologized for her actions and removed the warnings on those members records.
I've had so much fun with the recent 'illegitemate' contests. I've seen alot of 'high caliber' artists entered and it intrigued me so much that I participated in 5 of such contests and 0 renderosity orginized contests.
Oh well, all good things must come to an end eventually.
My contest days are over for awhile.
I've been neglecting my TV. I'll go back and get re-acquainted with my remote control.
btw give Jeny a break now, she's apologized. Please forgive, but remember.

I don't see what rules have been broken that are disrupting the normal opperations for renderosity. We are allowerd to post one image to a gallery per day. The contests have not broken that rule. Daily, many people post thier images in gallery choices that don't really reflect the piece. People don't have their images pulled for that, so clearly it isn't all about images being pulled for improper placement in the galleries for the normal operations of Renderosity. Admin has the power to move threads. If you want contests to only come through the contest forum and gallery, move the threads that announce them there when they appear and tell people to post there. Do not remove posts in other galleries that point users to the contest forum and gallery. It seems a common practice of late to bomb rather than find peaceful solutions.. I'd be willing to bet some rightous member complained about having to look at contest entries improperly placed. Get out the big guns, there must be crazy enemies in our midst trying to disrupt renderosity's normal opperations! Take 'em down! Ban 'em! Remove all traces (except from the members count because if any business partners knew how many people have already left here it could be embarrassing.)! Rendo has overplayed it's hand again but this time it's the Poser community not just the cranky OT folk. Very risky financially. I hope you guys stick to your guns.
I just lost my entire note here. Suffice to say, I'm not happy about losing some of my images, but I am hopeful about getting the images and comments back in the near future. In the future, if the potential TOS violation is an ambiguous one, such as the reason stated above, could we please have a policy of notifying the artist of the problem before deleting an image? I understand if something is blatant, such as sexual situations clearly spelled out in the TOS, but this one is so ambiguous, it could apply to almost anything, including "Too many people disagree with the opionion expressed in this image." Come on, people! We are allowed to post one image a day for free! Nowhere did it say that contests must be sanctioned/approved and that entries must be posted to a particular area of the site. All that said, JenyK, thank you for recognizing the error of your ways. "To err is human; to truly feck things up reuqires a computer!" Just don't try the "c: del ." command, ok? I guarantee, you won't like the results.... :) Also, thanks for your many apologies, and for working to solve the problem. If my images reappear, I'll rename them. If not, oh well.... Hugs, Wylder
Thanks!! :) Yes, I will give artist time to resolve if there are ambiguous TOS concerns in the future. Update, most all of the full size images, notes, ranks, comments, etc have returned. However, it may take a little longer to replace the thumbs--but it's still being worked on. Yes, the "H & H Contest" is still going on, it's just moved to the Contest area :) Many thanks to everyone! We hope to get the others in there soon too.
Â
Tricia...you must understand that the reason you saw these contests taking place was because the admin encouraged it.The reason I even addressed the matter is that there seemed to be an effort to say they knew nothing about them...they not only knew but they knew that they were not taking place in any sanctioned manner. If there was a violation of the TOS it was the admin themselves who started it and then allowed it to continue when problems were brought to their attention and questions raised. There were even discussions about these needing to be posted as official contests or not and the admin "did not require it"...so by oversite or ignorence Jeny made the decision based on what she found and interpreted in the TOS.She may have in fact been 100% correct about the violation in the TOS...but I have still to see where this in any way harms the function the gallerys were established for. I can give Jeny the benefit of a doubt if the other admin are to blame for her confusion...but that only means they are all to blame. And Jeny,my reference to ignorence on your behalf is not an insult...ignorence is defined by not knowing and choosing not to know,my benefit of a doubt is that maybe you didn't know but I know for a fact others did and fault only that you were gung ho to enforce a TOS that at best is up for interpretation~it does not allow nor disallow member contests in the gallerys.
If the end goal of learning is genius...why are most geniuses failures at learning?
JenyK, I must say I am very impressed that you have offered what seems like sincere apologies to the community, and that the images are being restored. I now have mine back. I daresay, you need not worry about the thumbnails; most artists will probably not mind recreating those. It was the loss of comments that stung the worst, and since that is rectified (hopefully, for all), I am sure everyone would be quite willing to let it go at that.
JenyK-Our contest entry for the FCC Contest, along with all the comments, has been returned to our gallery. Thank you for putting it back. And for working to resolve these issues. We're still unclear about the TOS - and if it was stated in any of the above thread, we apologize for missing it - but we're not certain if we should change the name on our image. Would you please let us know ?
Ok Jenny! my image is restored 100%, not more flames from my part, Once the damage is undone further fight is futile! Thank you! please IM me if i still need to change the picture name and if i need to wait until the whole restore is complete or whatelse. Regards Ram
If it looks as mere real life, then it don't worth the effort.
Well again, people didn't just start running the gallery contests willy nilly and it seems the blame is now swinging towards those who sponsored the contests or put them together. No one broke any rules and the admin themselves encouraged this...if the TOS were violated it is they who are at fault not any of the members for participating or sponsoring.
All of this could have been avoided if firm action were taken when this started,I tried to get that done and was basically told don't worry about it.No one ignored any rules or TOS against this and I for one have been insulted that I tried to get action done to prevent something like this from happening and now that it has, those who sponsored are either being made to feel they did something wrong or those who participated feel that they shouldn't have.No actual rules were violated...just the interpretation of those rules which were interpreted one way for months and then all of a sudden are interpreted differently which led to these actions.
But the worst part is that this was such a sweeping action that more admin should have been involved...Jeny should not be in this position where she gets blamed if she makes a wrong move,it happens which is why I hope that Jeny understands that the anger expressed should not have been aimed soley at her.
But the past few comments seem to point at the contests being wrong...they weren't when the admins themselves encouraged them and actually refused to take action when concerns were raised early on!!So to Jeny I can only say that if you are correct in your actions I owe you my apologys...its the other admin who knew what was going on and encouraged it that are to blame~but lets not start bashing ourselves or others when we were only doing what they wanted us to do.
There was no reason for the gallery contests, they were confusing to follow and we could have all avoided this had we simply used the contest forum and gallerys established for this...but we were told we didn't have to and the freedom of doing it in the gallerys seemed to catch on.WHO'S FAULT IS THAT?
If the end goal of learning is genius...why are most geniuses failures at learning?
JenyK, thanks for getting my images AND comments back. All of us who were affected appreciate that. Please let us know specifically what we need to do with them (changing titles, changing notes, whatever) to get them the way that the admins want. I don't believe that there were many people here (perhaps none) who had any idea that these contests weren't perfectly okay to the admins. I certainly thought they were fine since the people I saw entering them were among the most respected and long-standing members of Renderosity. the steps you have taken to fix this problem are a big help to getting this episode behind us. Having said that, there are going to be alot of hurt feelings for some time to come. jen

I think JenyK deserves a lot of credit for fixing the damage but mostly for being the ONLY one taking all the flak for this. As AB has said several times in this thread, other admins knew of these contests and did nothing to change them or the rules and not a single one of them showed up here to stand with JenyK or offer explanations or apologies. You did good, JenyK, and I hope you aren't too badly bumped and bruised by all of this. And for all who held the contests for our benefit, thank you. They have been some of the most enjoyable ones I've ever entered. None of you need to apologize to us for something that was not within your control. These contests have brought artists of all levels together in a most excellent way and I hope to see them continue, be it here or elsewhere.
FlyByNight
I 'WAS' a member of the Bryce Community here until today, when I read this thread. One of my friends here was affected by this... so I decided to 'YANK' my own gallery (approximately 90 images) before the 'Gestapo' descides I'm in violation of some obscurity in the TOS. I will never pander to this type of behavior. I have also cancelled my subscription to Rendo. Below is a copy of an IM I sent to my friend. Archive of message sent to name deleted to protect the innocent: I wonder if she felt good when she had her finger on the delete button... I 'HATE' mean-spirited people and people on power trips! But, I guess it's the censorship thing that got to me most. I won't be a part of anyone or anything that endorses that! The contests whether in a designated section or not were good for the community... this was just plain 'stupidity' and that's another thing I can't abide! I posted in this thread earlier today and had the post 'YANKED. But, I guess I can't say who yanked it. This is like 'BIG BROTHER' BIG TIME! We'll keep in touch, Susan My friend IM'ed be back saying she too pictured someone gleefully pressing the delete button. No I'm sorrys will do in this case... It's both insidious and irreparable... susanmoses
Thats why I have been trying to temper my anger here and not being successful,I was caught up in this early on and I expressed many of the concerns Jeny has expressed on this...I do not disagree with the reason save for the actions based on that reason and her steadfast denial that "any" of the admin were aware of this. This is false and the steadfast question everyone has asked "how can you not have seen the numerous forum posts and gallery images on this"...it really makes the admin look like idiots and Jeny is the one in front for which she comes off as the worst of the lot. I understand whats going on in regards to a whitewash to deny any accountability...but I sponsored one of these and several members of my site either sponsored or participated so until there is a truthful public explanation and apology to this community,I will not let it rest~unlike those here who aren't facing their responsibility to their members,I am facing mine to the members of my site who I will not have blamed for something the admin on this site encouraged them to do. If Jeny is indeed innocent here, then the other admin are hiding behind her cause she overreacted...but someone needs to be responsible enough to step forward and take the blame. On another note...rosity has too many forums and the Contest forum is one of the most ignored forums because it is so far down on the list~maybe a quick correction here that might help would be to move it to the top and start promoting it in the other forums with a statement at the top??It would also help if the contest administrator made his/her presence felt a little more strongly after this to get people in that forum...help the members with their contests until a transition is made from the gallerys to the contest arena.
If the end goal of learning is genius...why are most geniuses failures at learning?
Three of my images were deleted. Two have been restored, with comments. The missing one did not have the word "Contest" in the title, but in the notes. I still have the image, but I'd hate to lose the thirty or so comments. JenyK, can you give an indication of when the restoration operation will be completed?
And another thing, Armorbeast is absolutely right. The communications system allowed this mistake to happen. So JenyK does not deserve to be the only one taking the flak. This IS important. Renderosity staff, improve your communications, improve your procedures, and make sure that nasty messes like these can not happen again.
And let us, your members, know WHAT you did to improve. Let us know WHAT rules and procedures the admins and moderators follow and apply. THat will go a long way in restoring the members' trust in the staff, which has been badly shaken by this issue (and quite a few other issues too).
As I've said before, nobody's perfect and mistakes happen. JenyK is working hard to correct her mistake, and that's good and proper and goes a long way in restoring my trust in her personally.
Now the Renderosity staff itself must correct the mistake of having lousy communications and unclear procedures. Get organized, get structured, and show it. That's what's needed to regain the trust of the members. And on the financial side, that's what's needed to attract new merchants and marketplace customers. Everybody wins.

OK for those that are curious and because I see the thread is still running....just a few little things I wanna say.... 1) Mistakes are made everyday...a person who can fix a mistake and apologize this publicly is most DEFINITLY forgiven in my book :O) 2) As for whether Rendo "knew" contests were going on etc...I believe it was known but you know sometimes we all let things slide until something arises...complaints or what not that make it so you can't "let it slide" anymore...and then the only thing you can do is change it for everyone...not that this was the best way...but definitly we all got the point LOL...no more contests in the gallery LOL :O) And why not just say well we saw but let it go...well because that too would start a whole other fight about why now and where was the problem etc...it's a business tactic used all over the place...just like parents use it with kids at times...you let your children do something for whatever reason that they shouldn't do and let it "slide" occasionally but if something arises you put your foot down...if the kid asks...well you let me do it yesterday you don't say oh I let it slide cuz that is grounds to get walked all over...you say well if I would have seen it I wouldn't have...classic LOL...not an excuse...merely an explanation :O) 3) I know there were people worried about what running the contests from the contest gallery would be like and are a bit reserved so I wanted to set your minds at ease...I have asked about 20 questions while getting H&H up and running so I am going to give you answers to things you may wonder...and want to add that both Shoshanna and hauksdottir are wonderful and helpful and VERY easy to work with...so for sure not worries there...not to mention funny :O) OK...contest held there are done however you want them... Nudity can be allowed or not (up to the runners discretion).... People can post the images in the gallery AFTER there approval to the contest and comments can be enabled or disabled (also this is up to the contest runners) Judging can be done in any manner the contest runners choose...by voting or a panel of judges etc...and judges are chosen by the contest runners...not Rendo mods or admin.... Every single element of our H&H contest has been created by prog...mutedbanshee...and myself...we made all the decisions....they helped with advice when needed and input and posted the contest. The approval process of the images themselves are also handled by the contest runners not rendo (unless of course there is a TOS violation) obviously we can't over ride the TOS. I hope this answers those questions and you all will continue to put on these fun...inspiring...and AMAZING contests :O) I always love them even if I don't enter I love seeing all the creativity and would hate to see them go :O) To Armour....I understand your upset because of "your site members" but as far as I know everything has been fixed and even the "warnings" were being removed...so all that needs to change is titles on images so future members will not be confused as to the proper place to run a contest. I think JenyK has gotten enough anger over this...and has publicly apologized in more than 1 thread...so I say leave this be now...it is over...we all expressed our upset and a huge company responded...maybe not as fast as we wanted but they did...and that says alot for our value :O) Also the way everyone pulled together to create change in this was just well INCREDIBLE and personally I am proud to be a member where so many were proactive and actually cared about what was happening even if it wasn't to them :O) HUGS ALL.... :O) ann :O)

Could be you missed a few key points...this wasn't a matter of letting things slide and when Fergusen and Cimerone "unknowingly" broke the law rosity should have taken action then as they had every reason too if for no other reason than protecting their butts from future legal issues...they not only didn't,they said sally forth and continue on!!Thats whats so important about them knowing and why I get so ill when I see Jeny apologise making sure to include "but none of us admin knew anything about it"!You cannot count it as an apology if it is based on an untruth...and if not addressed now it can and will happen again!!So no ann, you're wrong on that count...sorry,but an apology cannot include untrue statements and be considered sincere. Some of the admin were even commenting in the forum threads where these contests were being discussed...so again, its not a matter of not knowing when they participated in the discussions and encouraged the activity. If someone encourages your child to use drugs, provides the drugs and then turns them over to authoritys for punishment while claiming absolutely no involvement or knowledge that your child was on drugs...maybe it takes an example like that to fully explain my pov.I'm a very forgiving person Ann and tend to get stepped on a lot for it...recent events made be bite the foot that steps on me and even though I might get crushed,I'm leaving you a cripple for the rest of your life for doing it;P I fight for people I care about and I don't take matters like this lightly cause like has been said here already, these things happen far too often on rosity.I feel accountability and an apology to the members is in order...but so far its just been Jeny with her feet in the fire and she's saying no one knew when its obvious no one believes it cause we all know its untrue~cept maybe if Jeny herself somehow honestly didn't know which makes it worse since none of the other admin that did know have stepped forth to help her with the public relations angle.
If the end goal of learning is genius...why are most geniuses failures at learning?
Armorbeast, the key point is the lack of structure and organization within the Renderosity staff. Some of the admins definitely knew about these contests going on. Apparently that knowledge has not been communicated. I'm inclined to believe that Jeny honestly did not know that other admins knew. And if that's true, the lack of communication and structure is appalling indeed. Some of the other admins need to step in and explain. Preferably more than one.
I'm getting a bad feeling about this. This whole mess is not an incident, but a symptom of something major being wrong with the organization. And I see no indications that the core problem is being dealt with.
The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter

Agreed...but I have told Jeny numerous times that the other admin knew and I understand they've discussed the matter among themselves~so now its not a matter of miscommunication, either they lied to her or she lied to us.In any case, she may have pulled the plug but she didn't put the water in the tub~so other admin need to step forward instead of leaving Jeny to address this on her own. Maybe the feeling is she did the damage so the other admin are letting her fix it and take all the heat?I dunno...but I'm trying to refocus on getting an explanation and someone stepping forth to accept responsibility here because the members are not at fault here~too much proof to the contrary and if the members don't merit accountability on behalf of those responsible, then all that can be done is point your finger at the one person they left out in front to take the heat...which is exactly whats happening. Its been two days and other than pm's I've sent, there has been no communication on this by the other admin in the forums that I've seen...so no,this isn't a communication problem svdl as this is a purposeful act not to step up and take their turn at bat.Regardless of who did what, its time to face the music...it appears the other admin forgot their instruments when it was they who wrote the lyrics Jeny is being forced to play too.
If the end goal of learning is genius...why are most geniuses failures at learning?
This is all getting too big to cope with. Just look how many posts there are. But this does remind me of events elsewhere, where some collective activity on a site gets removed without apparent warning, on what seems like a whim of the administrators. And there's always some Captain's Cloak of a catch-all clause in the site's TOS. Buried somewhere in this stuff, it seems that the administrators have done something to avoid a repeat of the problem, with the opening of a new gallery section. Now they really need to think about how they communicate with us. I haven't noticed any announcement of this new feature anywhere else, but I could easily have missed it. And getting the news out is the problem. If I wanted to be snowed under with emails telling me about further posts in this thread, I could click on the check-box, below this window I'm typing into. Is it so hard to write a script which sends an email when an administrator deletes an image?
Its been two days and other than pm's I've sent, there has been no communication on this by the other admin in the forums that I've seen >> Now they really need to think about how they communicate with us. I haven't noticed any announcement of this new feature anywhere else, but I could easily have missed it. That's par for the course. Typically the pat answer is "we're having meetings about it" and that's the last we hear.
Personally I don't think JenyK, nor Renderosity, deserves a break here. EVERY year something like this happens and EVERY year this is what we hear: "We will also be looking at ways to seriously improve our communication issues." How many YEARS does it take to improve communication amongst the staff here? If this was a marriage someone would have been out the door years ago... Hey, I know, why don't ya'll use that big ole hidden forum ya'll got to communicate once in a while. I'm surprised nothing was posted there when the one contest that Cimerone was involved with was discussed in this forum. I know a mod took it to an admin to clarify if it was legal or not (as Armorbeast has tried to point out more than once).
WELL, I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD JUST TAKE A PAUSE, AND WAIT TO SEE IF THE IMAGES ARE RESTORED. JENYK IS APPOLOGETIC, RENDEROSITY IS TALKING ABOUT RESTORING THE IMAGES, (THEY MAY HAVE BY NOW, I DONT KNOW), AND I KEEP GETTING AN EMAIL EVERYTIME SOMEONE POSTS ON THIS THREAD.
PERSONALLY, AS I DO NOT POST IMAGES (YET..I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN HOW), AND I DONT BUY FROM THE MERCHANTS, I AM JUST A GUY WHO LOVES TO LOOK AT THE INCREDIBLE ARTWORK BY ALL OF THE ARTISTS ON RENDEROSITY.
SO EVERYONE TAKE A DEEP BREATH, AND WAIT FOR RENDEROSITY TO DO THE RIGHT THING BEFORE ANYONE CHANGES WEBSITES TO POST THEIR IMAGES.
BY THE WAY, DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW I CAN STOP BEING NOTIFIED EVERY TIME SOMEONE POSTS A NEW MESSAGE TO THIS THREAD?
I WANTED TO READ THE POSTS WHEN I POSTED MY FIRST MESSAGE, BUT NOW IT SEEMS THAT EVERYONE IS SORTA JUST BEATING A DEAD HORSE HERE, AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO REMOVE MYSELF FROM NOTIFICATIONS ON THIS THREAD.
THANKS

If you don't come back to this thread when you get an ebot, you won't get another one.
You can also post to the thread, and uncheck the "e-mail me when someone replies" box.
And please...lose the caps lock. Typing in all caps is considered rude. It's the Internet equivalent of shouting, and it's difficult to read.
i just wanted to explain about "yelling" in the message board.
see, it was like this:
my kids have the cartoons on very loud, and i myself am listening to led zep on my computer while i am typing.
my wife was screaming at me, from bed, to turn the music down, and on top of all of that, i cannot hear in my left ear.
so i had to yell just to hear myself type.
sorry...

Man, what a haul that was. I've finished reading the whole drama, and I have to agree with Jack K. It is "sheepish" to respond to the martial law around here with, "Oh well, what can you do?" You can stop spending money here. I quit buying more than a year ago, and I'm managing just fine. I'm sure I haven't made much of a dent in R's revenues, and it took months to stop torturing myself by wandering in the market place, but I have lots of places to shop that don't treat me like sheep ("Screw 'em, shear 'em, roast the meat"). Totalitarian states have a simple solution when force and intimidation don't work: Pick a scapegoat--nice to have women to choose from--and march her out to the mob. This place has a fundamental flaw that will not go away but continue, as it has for years, to appear here, then there, like rash. It doesn't care about anything except making a few people more wealthy. The site will eat your money till it vomits, then fill the new space with more. That is not a community. What is wrong here is not "communication." R communicates very clearly who it is and what it thinks of its members. No amount of communication will change an attitude. M
Well I want to say thank you for returning my FCC Contest image. I JUST LOOK AT THE REALLY COOL PICTURES. I DONT ENTER ANY CONTESTS, I DONT PAY ANY MONEY TO REGISTER TO THIS WEBSITE, AND I DONT PAY ANY MONEY FOR ANY OF THE SOFTWARE.
I JUST WANT TO SEE THE PICTURES.
DONT GO AWAY, ANY OF YOU. DONT "BOYCOT", DONT CHANGE WEBSITES...(I WOULDNT KNOW WHERE TO GO TO LOOK AT THIS KIND OF INCREDIBLE WORK). AND IT WORRIES ME THAT AFTER 3 YEARS OF PICKING MY FAVORITE ARTISTS, AND HAVING A NEW POSTING LINK EMAILED TO ME EVERYDAY, THAT THOSE GREAT AND FREINDLY PEOPLE WILL NOW STOP POSTING RENDERS.
GOD I HOPE YOU GUYS DONT DO THAT. THIS IS MY FAVORITE WEBSITE ON THE WHOLE WWW.
I UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED AND WHY YOUR ANGRY, BUT GIVE IT A DAY OR TWO AND SEE IF YOUR IMAGES ARE RESTORED.
IVE MADE SOME PRETTY GOOD FRIENDS HERE, AND EVEN HAD TOTAL STRANGERS MAKE IMAGES JUST FOR ME, JUST BECAUSE I ASKED THEM TOO. THAT IS A "COMMUNITY". I WOULD HATE TO SEE THAT LOST.
THANKS
RUSSELL (RAZZELL2)
