Subject: Almost fed up with Poser to Truespace with materials

Ok, I am almost done with this. I have tried exporting poser figures to: 1) Composer 2) UVmapper 3) Detailer 4) Xroads After I export the figure, I convert it to .cob and bring it into Truespace and wait..wait..I do not change the mapping coords and I grab the textures from the runtime/textures folder -- and low and behold. It does not map right and I cannot figure out why. I know this is asking alot but could someone give me a STEP BY STEP (be really dumb here) on how to export it, get the textures and map them back on. This really is pissing away all of my time -- trying different things and I cannot get this project done until I get this one part. Thanks for all your help.

Tried and does not seem to work. Not sure what you are doing exactly. I have created a model in Poser - export it as a obj., import it in Truespace and apply texture. Does not work - what up with that?

Hey SixPackWolf - where are you getting your textures from? The same place in runtine/textures? Are you using Poser 3 or 4?

OK SixPackWolf - tried it your way and still no go. Here is a screen cap of my work area- you can see the texture I used, the settings I used. It is a 3ds model and see what I am talking about!! I cannot figure this thing out. Driving me crazy and spending too much time on it. I have a major project due - last week - and I am a perfectionist. If I cannot get this to work, don;t know what I will do...

Now even if I color in the areas of white with skin tone, it is still all wrong. The placement is wrong.

Ok, ok, finally got it!! Whew hew! I knew I was doing something wrong - and it wasn't uvmapping or anything like that. I was grabbing the wrong texture. I found that alot with tutorials that are written, one step left out leaves guys like me in the dark for days. I should have kept going to runtime/textures/poser 3 textures and grabbed those!! Thanks for the help though. Also, having a hard time getting the hair -- since the texture does not have the hair, what do I do to map that on? Thanks again.

How do I do the hair and beard stuff?

The simplest way to do what you want is to inport the P4 charcter into UVMapper and give theentire figure a planar uvmap. Export it. Then, inport it into TrueSPace. You will need to flip the UVMap cordinates actually if I recall. You will see seams. Maybe you can "fill them in withcolor" JanP
