-Bryce "Lightning" (along with Bryce proper) is installed on the main PC. -The new Duron 1100 PC, which does NOT have Lightning installed on it, executes the Lightning program from the main PC. -The Duron 1100 can now act like it DOES have Lighting installed on it, and can be used for network rendering. *Meaning, no install of "Lightning" really needed on any PC's you want to use for network rendering. Aye, I've been using Lightning since it came out, but I always actually installed it on each render client. What I'm saying is that it's apparently not necessary. One difference I noticed was that it optimized the tiles differently. It apparently started the host on a random tile, with the client rendering the tile just next to the host's. Then the host would pick another unrendered random tile, and the client (which is slower in this case) would try and keep up... Or maybe I just forgot to click Tile Optimization...? (shrugs!) Probably doesn't make any sense. Hope Corel doesn't get pissed, but I can't see why I would install Lightning on other machines anymore. They'll get enough out of me when Bryce 6 comes out... (well, Corel won't!!!)

Looping Bryce from a networked computer? I tried it this morning, because I scored a little Duron 1100 and wanted to add it's "power" to my other PC's, but I couldn't find my damn Bryce disc and was in a hurry. So, I launched Lightning on the new PC through the network, from my main PC, then loaded my default scene in Bryce 5 on the main PC. And it worked! I rendered my default scene in about 4 minutes, instead of 7, using both machines. Amazing.
