Subject: multiple shaders on a vertex object

how do you add more then one shader to one object. like if I have cube, and I want the front to be orange the left to be blue the back to be red and the right to be purple. The tops can be anything else, how would I do this?

This requires selecting the side in the vertex modeler, naming it as a shading domain. Name each side a different name / domain. Then in texture room, apply a layer list. Use parametric for each side, apply each layer a parametric layer - choose the shading domain, apply a color or texture .... just play around with it. You'll need to add six layers for each side of the cube. It took me a while to figure it out, sorry if I didn't explain it well. I'm not at my computer. R.

Never Give Up!

Or use a layer list, then add different flat layers, then select the side, and you can use a reference shader to refer to another shader of your choice, or you can insert a color or multi shader into the source.

There's a good exposition of Shading Domains in the Carrara Studio 3.0 Handbook by Mike de la Flor...pages 265-270. I just found it, have not read through it carefully, but he introduces the section by saying that it's really straightforward and easy.
