Subject: how the heck do you use cloud planes?

I'm trying to figure out a way of creating a certain scene, and one way was to use cloud planes. But I cannot for the life of me work out how you use them - the stupid manual seems to say nothing about them (though I only read the online manual).

I created a plane, and applied a volumetric cloud to it...and this is the bizarre result. WTF? No matter how I try to modify the plane material, it just seems to go beserk.

Looks like either the scale or the mapping, try changing the scale and also try changing the mapping mode to object: Parametric and see if that does anything, I've never seen anything like this myself except when using images before changing the mapping mode. Hope this helps!

Are you using alpha planes? That's the only way I know how to get them to work.

I just did a quick check with vue 4 and what I found was Vlumetric clouds gave Me the same type results as the above pic. If I used any of the other cloud types and not a volumetric for the cloud plane they looked just fine. Give it a shot.

Is your atmosphere volumetric?
