Five months in the making, partly because I switched from Poser to Carrara in the middle, although I still used Poser for the character animation.

Post-editing in Vegas, Mimic for the lipsynch. Models mainly from Daz and from here :)

Wow, you put a lot of work into this! I'm impressed with the large cast you've put together and the sets/scenery. Your story and music work well together as well. The main suggestion I have is that there are places where I'd speed up character's movements a bit. I've noticed that many animators give their characters slow, deliberate movement or make all the movement steady. However, real people move quickly and change the rate of speed while they are moving. That's something I always have to watch for when I'm animating so I'm aware of it in other people's work. This is very impressive for a first go (actually it's better than many people's second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth animations - grin). I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future. In the meantime, please don't forget to put a link to it in Renderosity's Animation Outlet!

Thanks for the comments! I totally agree with you on the slow movements. It's due to me depending too much on the software's tweening, rather than really thinking through the way the body moves. I went out and bought a couple of books on character animation last weekend to try to learn how to improve on it for next time. I'll put it in the outlet too.

You can get a pretty good idea of moves just standing in the mirror or filming yourself and couting beats or using a timecode if thats available. As an example. It takes my head 1 second to turn from front-facing to either side, casually. That can be easily translated into 1 second turn = 30fps (or whatever the fps is)

I am bowled over by it.  I really enjoyed it and thought it a good story. Especially liked the Sinatra poster.
