Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 02 2:22 am)
can't see a reason to give you textures on your site!!!! is this supposed to be a paid position(weekly/monthly wage) with also 25% of individual item sales!!! otherwise it looks like you are offering me 25% of MY product sales!!! and you do nothing except host them on a site no-one has ever heard of!!!! perhaps you could clarify this!!! as this doesn't look a good deal at all!!!
AHHHH!!ha!
i just knew you guys had something new up your sleeves!!lol
well you know me and my abilities so if your interested in offering me a deal.
just send a note my way!
off to check out your new site.
(wonder were some of us have been if we've never heard of you?lol)

From my experience, there are many good texture artists who couldn't UV-map thier way out of a paper bag. No offense intended, but my point is, I think a lot of folks are going to have issues with the team setup being proposed...
First, there's no mention of who's going to be rigging/Poserizing the models.
There are some great model artists who can't UV-map either, but they are 'usually' more likely to have those skills than texture artists.
Again, no offense intended, but I don't see an (equal) need for a 2D concept artist.. maybe that's something the texture artist can do.
"1 x Administrator / Project Manager" ... if this is the store/site's cut, just say so. If it's not, then what's the site's cut?
...I can appreciate the idea of breaking up the tasks into manageble chunks and churning out product can help make up for the smaller proffit/cut of the proceeds, but I think you'll find that the people you want filling some of those positions don't always fit the pigeon-holes you've outlined.
Someone (with the appropriate skillset) is going to have to:
...depending on the person, they might do more than one of the above tasks, but they all need to get done by someone.
I'm not looking for a position here, so please just take this as friendly advice and/or food for thought :).
Best luck with your productions,
Keith

just to echo Keiths point..uv mapping wherever possible should be done at the modelling stage..not after the model is done.
I know Poser users have this workflow of modelling,uv mapping, then texturing...but uv mapping at the same time you model will allow for a much better use of textures.
my whole workflow has improved since shifting from doing uv's after I model to doing them while I model.allowing for much more efficient use of texture maps.
good luck!

Ok. I run meshManglers.com. I am the Administrator and I would like to explain a few things to set the record straight.
I setup MeshManglers.com for people who want to sell the produce of their talents within the poser arena but do not have all the full skill set required to create a poser ready model. For all of you who are that talented, I salute you and wish you all the best of luck.
The administrator, ME, gets 25% because I AM one of those people who can Model, UV Map, texture, Rig, Create morphs....etc, etc. I will be helping to create every model that ends up here at Renderosity, not just raking in 25% for sitting on my A$%£.
I have also spent the last 3 years running 3dSaraCreations which has given all Poser users hundreds of megabytes of free models here at Renderosity. So please, everyone, stop giving me advice and stop acusing me of ripping people off.
Any one of you can do the same as I have and do it your way.
Thank you
NeilP
Hey Neil,
Thanks for the elaboration... as I mentioned (more than once), I was not intending to offend or accuse anyone, I just thought that your position descriptions needed clarification, so people potentially interested in joining you would have all the details.
I also wanted to point out that there were several steps left out of the process... it sounds like you (as the coordinater/administrator) can/will handle many of those steps, so that helps clarify the duties of that position... as I mentioned, those extra tasks HAVE to get done by someone and are not trivial.
Since you've been at this a while (I'm not familiar with your Sara work), you obviously know all of this, but it just wasn't clear from your descriptions. I suspect that your clarifications above will help ease some minds.
Good luck,
Keith
